They still haven't fixed the medical which leaves patients out to dry due to high prices/lack of locations and still dragging their feet on home grow. That half-baked program needs to be fixed before they even think about opening any rec shops.

Does anyone feel like going over this and making sense of it? I cant tell if this is any formal rulemaking that's now in effect for med users. There's a general vibe to me of this being additional framework for the new cultivator licenses and dispensaries to deal with med users. I see little about med patients cultivating, but I could be off...

Those new regulations seem to have nothing about patients finally being able to grow their own meds

I went to one of the local smoke shops here in Central NY and they are already selling flower. You just have to ask them for it, they don't have it displayed. I hear this is common for most of them now.

The proposed legislation seeks to advance patient access to cannabis while also delineating minimum safety standards for such access. Interested parties may submit comments on the Proposed Regulations until July 23, 2022, after which they will become effective upon publication of a Notice of Adoption in the State Register."


So this means we're just waiting for them to file it in the State Registrar? Somebody with another pair of eyes please correct me if I'm wrong...

They can still make changes to the revised regulations, I believe that's the whole point of having the comment period just like earlier this year, so now we have to wait for them to read the comments and hopefully no changes are made or it'll be another 45 day comment period ect. Last time I think it took them 4 months to read the comments and make changes. I've been keeping an eye on the upcoming board meetings and Ill be checking the state register tomorrow (and every Wednesday after) just incase a miracle happens..

No question, they don't like the idea of anyone getting cannabis as cheap and easily as their bedroom closet. I wouldn't be surprised if it never happens and they change the framework for all growing and keep it illegal in NYS permanently. My med card renewal is another $150. I was shocked for a while at what they've been up to, but I've accepted that our government is as corrupt as I always thought it was...

Does anyone know if there's a way to send a bunch of angry messages to the people running the meetings?

The everyday person will continue to get screwed over by corruption in government/lying politicians.

They're very slow at this, they have to read all the comments that were made about the most recent regulations and then decide if those previous regulations need to be changed again.. These people work on their own time unfortunately. After the comment period closed on the original regulations I think it was several months before it was addressed..

NY is going down the route of allowing greed to control the direction of cannabis. They have left patients behind due high cost [heard that the medicine produced by the 10 MSO monopoly isn't even of high quality]. I've read a story about curaleaf the other day on them raising the price of products instead of making them more affordable. Where is that promised home grow option? why is it taking so long to be finalized? the patients will continue to suffer while the OCM rush to jump start the rec program which is estimated to rake in billions.
