Cal/mag does not add those kind of numbers to the ppm…………. Do a test, take a one gallon container, fill it with clean water and add 5ml of cal mag and then let’s compare. Don’t add anything else. Also, what the ppm of your water before you add anything. Give me both number, as I’m wondering if your ppm is high with just plain water?

I'm starting with stripped to zero ro water... I have a 4 stage ro.. deionized as well.. then when I add 5 ml.. it goes to 300 on 1 meter and on another ... like 230ish so that's 70 ppm difference between the 2... so I started thinking I wonder where yours read at... to kind of gauge the whole baseline you know? I'm curious as to which 1 Is the closest to true..

It’s impossible for 5ml of cal/mag to be at 230 OR 300 if you are starting at 0 ppm! On the combo meter, on the main screen to the right of the reading, does it say 500ppm?

I'm assuming you own the cailbration liquid and are calibrating every couple of months, keeping the probe clean and always in water. Bad readings are normally a calebration or battery issue. Change you batteries if you haven't for a while. Bluelab recomments a monthly calibration.

Below is a link for the manual if you do not own it.....

I've linked to the page that shows the different Nutrient Units: EC, CF, PPM 500, PPM 700

Make sure your meter is set to ppm 500.

The probe ALWAYS has to be wet, even when cleaning. Never pull it out of the water for any period of time. Next i would say your meter probe could be bad.

The ec has to stay wet?? I thought that was only the ph probe? Yes I cleaned w the bluelab cleaning kit for ec... checked with the bluelab 2.77 standard... no calibration setting for the combo meter ec probe.. it reads 2.7 on 500 scale.. I'm always on the 500 scale.. unless calibrating then I go to ec... my other meter reads a 2.8 in the same standard solution by bluelab... but they are both switched to the 500 scale afterwards... they are both new .. combo meter I bought like 2 months ago. Stand alone ec Meter like 6 months ago... I calibrated just after cleaning and this test yesterday

To be honest, 15ml cal/mag only raises my ppm 30-40 Points. The Pure Blend Pro raises it much higher than that.
In 1 gallon?? That's insane... I wonder why that is?? In 1 gallon both my pens read higher than 230 ppm at 5 ml per gallon... also which probe... the 1 that reads at 300 for 5 ml of botanicare calmag... or the 1 that reads 230 is bad?

Both don’t sound right to me……….I’ll make a gallon and test it out in the morning and let you know. Somethings not right, we just haven’t figured it out. Your water actually tests to zero after the 4 stage filter? Mine is still around 40 ppm, but my water is really bad. I’ll let you while thinking about it some more.

Yes botanicare calmag... and I always put the ec in 1st to ensure a zero before adding anything... so I'm all the way down to zero.. it's a 4 stage so deionized as well... hence the zero ppm result.

Looks like blueplanet has a calcium 2.8 and a 1.2 on mg... botanicare is 3.2 calcium and 1.2 Mg... so blueplanet is the better choice for narrowing the gap od the mg in relation to calcium... so maybe I'll need to add epsom??

This is a new released strain (July) and although I haven‘t done anything from Barney’s in a long time (last thing was Vanilla Kush, which was good), this is a high yield, high thc 50/50 hybrid. It’s got some genetics in here that I wanted to try, I.e. Zkittles, Gelato, Wedding Cake and GMO. Done in under 70 days too.
