How to start large dwc

I'm relatively new to DWC. I've had two very successful grows. They are only in 12 litre/ 3 gallon buckets. I'm having to refill them every day, they almost drink half of the bucket in a day it's insane. I'm getting a kick ass 8x4 tent and was thinking of just 4 large totes in that tent maybe just 3 actually. I was wondering how the hell are you supposed to start in 40 litres of water. That's a lot of waste. Can you just increase the nutes as the plant grows without changing the solution. Any1 ever grow in large totes. I think it would be easier to handle 3 or 4 large plants. Any advice

I have a simmilar system, but its my first time doing DWC.
Have a look at my grow in my sig below to see some pics.

I've not been replacing the solution unless I run into issues, just topping up with water and more nutes as needed.
I have had some issues with bacteria growth though which I had to do a solution drain, clean and refil, and treating with peroxide.

I'm hoping to make it through the whole grow by only doing about 4 solution changes, which is much easier and more economical, but has its drawbacks and many reccomend changing solution more often.

I would go check out some of the build videos from PA hydroponics they explain how to build some really nice fall ponics systems and RDWC. The only problem I see with the totes is once the plants get big it’s hard to get into the totes to do changes and maintenance so as mentioned above a RDWC with a remote res is the way to go. May I ask why DWC it’s fun and all but much easier ways to grow

I'm finding dwc the easiest way to grow, trouble free, big smellier yields and super fast growth. Autopot is the easiest way but I've had a lot of problems with the system so after about 18 months I stopped using it. No soil to carry in or dump is great. I still do soil grows with autos

I use my auto pots as a drain to waste setup and works good.
yes DWC provides fast growth and fun to play with but can be a real PIA to maintain sometimes pending the setup. Check out alien hydroponics they build some of the wildest hydro setups I’ve ever seen but very pricy and made in the UK so not sure we can get them shipped here in the states

A. You need 5 Gal. buckets to keep ROOT ZONEs from MIXing
B. You need 5 Gal. buckets to Contain Any Problems to 1 pot
C. You need 5 Gal. buckets to make Moving in the Room EZ

2. Shallow Water Culture Is King
A. You only need 1 Gal of Reverse Osmosis
B. You Can Hybridize Your Bucket & Use Teas...

Cool man I was thinking also of the 5gal buckets. They sell specific ones for it here so if you want to turn it into rdwc you can. I do prefer the idea of being able to move them. Cheers man. Nice plant

You are the 2nd an ONLY DWC guy that I have helped...

If you look inside the tent ...I had 8 strains...
I grew that with a T5...
RDWC system are EZ but they are fixed....in place
Like @Treesomewanted77 Said...its other ways to grow...
Plus, at 1 gal per bucket...per week
Your water waste is NOTHING

Wow nice all with a t5, I'm not going rdwc. To much shit to clean and possibly get clogged. My current dwc plants are drinking a gallon every 36 hours. A gallon a week? How? Hey sharing secrets is what we here for man.

At 1st Yeah,,,they only need that Gal. ...So you arent wasting Nurt. & excess water
By Week 2 of Flower ...They consume a total Gal....But I fill My buckets with 2 Gal. of RO

Its 8 or 10 inch Nets...They hold the Coco & allow for a more complex root zone

As I got better,,,

I could watch ppms,,, to keep My uptake ON POINT.
If My ppms are ON...My Ph is On.
Then I can play with different Cultivars in each buckets ECO System...

Lite Feeders
Nitrogen Hoggs
Whatever...You know
Then I can Learn The Strain....& dail In the Feed on That Pheno

As I got better,,,
I was able to REALLY Dail in certain Strains
& change the caylx growth, pistil production, & trichome output

It got crazy at 32 buckets...
2016...I had ULINE drop off 40 black 5 Gal.
I had 8 in one tent...8 in another & 16 in the 4x4

I could just pull the air line & move the bucket to work & check Ph/ppm
But I would flush & feed change from 1 extra 5. gal.
But it was still hand moving 32 to 64 Gal. a Week

Wow man you're truly doing gods work there. It can be hard at times but damn it's worth it. Dwc is king if you ask me. Once you get used to the pH and ec fluctuations you don't have to check so much and it becomes very easy

I was averaging 112 grams Dry Per Plant with 432w T5's

I was growing in Apt's So I couldnt run 1000W HPS...
It was TX...I was popular with EVERY hydro store IN DFW & popular in 5 city jails in the MetroPlex...
I was notorious for 'walking' on Class A possession charges in 5 states...
I was getting seeds in the mail from seedbanks & forum members
I was on 10+ forums...
I was in ALL the Headshops kickin it & rollin Up
Then I was active in the Low Income Areas...& NightClubs

But I was LOW KEY & Silent ...

DWC is for prohibition...
I use to study soil/coco grows...Icmag.420Mag.TheSeedDepot.TheZon.CloudFarmer.THCtalk.GrassCity.THCfarmer.FireStax.GreenPool
I finally realized & learned HOW to Get Soil Results in DWC.

So I would tell anyone...go coco or soil. Its less noise...Slow as FUCK...& the flowers will still grow.
