Will curing develop terps in weed that smells crap after drying?

I realized I like to go with dryer bud when I ran out of jars (pre-grove bag) and just stuck a bunch of dried buds into a ziplock freezer bag and stored it in the dark at room temp-those ziplock buds tasted so much better than the exact same strain that I had painstakingly kept at 58-60% in Jars, and burped and all the rest. No comparison at all, the ziplock buds tasted like pure fresh strawberry and the jar buds tasted like generic mildly fruity skunk. Later this year I'm goin to grow some Mulanje Gold and do a proper Cob job on them to see what some real fermentation does to buds!

55 rh was what I found the sweet spot for Grove bags is as well. To close to 60 and it didn't seem to be nearly as well cured imo.

Another thought on this is put a bud in a bag and carry it in your pocket to smell the real terp. I keep my jars in the mid 60’s but was just reminded in a phone call from a cousin of the time he left one of my “gifts” in his golf bag in the trunk, car reeked for days. A little warmth is all it takes, i’ve heard it several times now.

I know where you're coming from with that one, a couple of times I've taken weed fishing because it's low key smell then after a bit noticed the smell wafting from pocket.

When I checked it today it was 13.6c/57% and the temperature thingy crossed my mind, anything to keep hopes afloat lol.

Yeah the cold temp slows down everything, so those volatile compounds that would be evaporating quickly at 18’c (or even faster in ur pocket) are staying put in their current state, tight to the bud.
