Nope, after what happened with the computer files found a week before 2016 election, and the fallout from that when it turned out to be nothing, not announcing it before the midterm elections was the correct call.

Biden is in zero legal jeopardy from what happened. It's all political. As such, the political decision to do all the necessary legal actions but not inform his political enemies of what happened is perfectly reasonable and caused no harm to anybody.

The three main reasons the expected Red wave in '22 turned out to be nothing but a spot on Republican panties:

Women's civil rights were taken away.
Biden did a fine job of managing the economy, much better than any Republican could have.
Concern over MAGA's continued effort to overthrow our Democracy.

A clerical error that caused Biden's staff to lose track of classified information -- the importance of which remains to be seen -- doesn't stack up to the three very heavy issues that caused so much grief among Republicans. Looking at that list, Republicans are why so many voters did not vote their way.

So, let me see. Republicans were caught red-handed conspiring to overthrow our government but Democrats are bad because a box that contained a few classified records were found in a garage next to Biden's Corvette, immediately reported and turned over to the appropriate authorities.. Read that again and try not to laugh. I can't do it.

I just don't like the fact that this is an issuthat trump has been rightfully called out for everyday for months and yet when another president breaks the same laws it is a non issue. I completely agree that Republicans want to distract the public's attention over a clerical error from the criminal investigations that are drawing closer to charges on Republican leaders for their attempts to steal the election and illegally put Trump in power. Also the Mar a Lago criminal acts by Trump.

If Biden responded the same way as tRump then your points would be valid. Have you seen anything that indicates that Biden has tried to obstruct the investigation or tried to prevent document retrieval? tRump broke the law, no question about that. We still have no clue if Biden broke the law, so how can anyone say it's a non-issue?

The one (other) thing that crosses my mind is that there was not a two-month scour scurry. Which suggests no guilty knowledge of more documents as found later.
