depends on how much electricity you are using besides that, if you cut down on everything else like turining the water heater off after you use it and not running the central heating then you could get away with it.....maybe.

Yes you can get away with it but it is also a safe bet to change all your other lighting to CFLs, unplug chargers when not using them, not use computer and T.V. at same time, etc. etc. this will reduce the rest of your energy consuption tremendously..

figure out how much your electric company charges per Kw hour then multiply that by 4 and multiply it by how many hours a day you are gonna run the lights and once again multiply that by 28 and that will tell you how much your bill is gonna increase.....if your electric company charges what mine does then it would be a 134 dollar jump on your bill and that is a noticeable change so try and cut back on other things to keep it from increasing so much, the cops cant get a warrant simply for an electric bill but they can get nosey.

Best knowledge you can get right here! Figure out what's used for your hot water heating. I would fire up two lights, for veg, than fire up the other two for flowering for your first crop.. Then for your next use 3 for veg, and 4 for flower and keep that as your cycle. That the way I would do it.. Ex) Were I live it is 6cents per kilowatt. I do not think I would want to up my electrical bill 90 dollors on top of my 70 in just one month!
But again, I use to work for a guy who had a electrical bill scheduled every two months and his bill was 1300 dollars, and again no attention from the police..
I also live in Canada, were the war on drugs isn't as fucked, BUT we do have a Conservative government; now crime control is our policy maker!

fuck that dude the police arent gonna get search warrants to check your electricity bill unless they have a strong sucpision that your growing in the first place... like somebody telling them.
the electric company won't say anything if your using too much energy. that just means that they're making more money. only if you were stealing the electricity which is retarded in the first place.
use as much energy as you want. as long as your willing and able to pay it, you will be fine.

Here, in Canada electrical company(such as BC Hydro) are obligated by administrative law to insight law enforcement about electrical consumption over 4000Watt consumption in any residence! Now I dont know how the law enforcement conducts their form of surveillance with the power consumption but they have a green team in my town and every 2-3years it seem's they do their big round up in Brithish Columbia, Canada.

Four 1000 watters? I must've read it wrong the first time. I thought we were talking about ONE 1000 watter and some fluoro tubes. 4000 watts is quite a bit. It might be pushing it.

Why not run some electric heaters for 2 or 3 months before you start your grow, or somthing that will use up 4000 watts, and use the appliances just as you would your lights, just to be on the safe side. In my personal opinion I wouldn't bother but if your that worried....
