To the Tune of the festive (Irish) Rovers Seasonal Favourite

Santa got a ticket from Kid Greta,
Donner was emitting too much gas!
"I've got good kids to see", said Santa,
"You can shove your ticket, up your ass."

Can always get a trailer hitch installed. ;)

Works for my Vue.

Have one on my car, just is not all that convenient if you have that one extra bag of groceries (and my stupid car pings me when I have something on the passenger seat without its seat belt clicked.

Most of my miles are on my bike, as in pedal. Been a bad year for me, have not been on my bike, first time since I was 5.

Fortunately mine in clutch-pearls mode merely turns on a yellow AIRBAG OFF! light.

I guess my passenger seat sensor isn't very sensitive. I pile fairly heavy stuff on it and never get a warning. There's an air bag over there too. My change oil and a little wrench are showing so should hook up my analyzer and shut them off. The oil change is set for regular motor oil and I got the best synthetic in so should be good for 3x as long. This is #2 and the oil on the stick is a darker gold but still clean looking. At $100 a pop these days it can wait 'til spring. I'm never hauling heavy and don't put a lot of miles on it.

I only rode my mountain bike about 50km last summer. Plan to put a lot more on the recumbent bike in the shop this winter. No worries about getting hit by a semi in there. :)

That little wrench has a large dollar sign connected to it.

Came on the same time as the oil light so I doubt there's much to worry about. I checked everything under the hood a few days ago and will plug in the analyzer tomorrow before I run to town. I can reset the oil light thru the menu on the stereo or with the analyzer. Paid $300 for that thing on sale 40% off so might as well play with it. Don't have a lot of faith in it tho. The one time I was having a bit of engine trouble, surging under hard acceleration, it told me I had a bad O2 sensor. Turned out to be the mass air flow control unit so a little pricier than an O2 sensor. Been running like a top since.

I love the gear shift on this thing. 6 speed auto but easy to downshift so I hardly ever touch the brakes. After years of driving trucks it feels like home. I go from home to town and never use the brakes until I hit the first of 2 stop signs on Main st.

I change my oil in fall and use a synthetic also. If it were not for the length of time (read that oxidation can muck up the oil) the less than 4k I put on the car each year does much more than change the color.

Quite likely.

Today's chicken - which we had for a few years and found fascinating - remind me of dinosaurs. There was a definitive pecking order. One egg laying chicken frequently behaved like a rooster, by hopping on top of the other chickens. There was no disdain for this particular chicken - it was treated the same as the rest and I ate it's eggs.

This observation was shared with binary minded family as an example of how their line of thinking is limited. I also showed them marigolds and tomatoes, some that had no flowers at all - a genetic anomaly perhaps or not enough Cal Mag. Nature is wonderful.

Asimov wrote a mirthful short story about a time machine working once (almost) and delivering a small dinosaur — flash-cooked by the machine’s not working quite right. The smell was compelling and the taste did not disappoint. They got themselves an egg-layer and built a commercial empire around the incomparable gustatory superlatives of dinachicken.

I'm pretty sure I read that story again not that ago. Likely in one of his Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazines of which I must have a 100 or more from the 70s to the late 80s when I subscribed fairly regularly. I've been re-reading them, Analog, Astounding etc that I've been finding boxes of stored here and there around the place, Like the 3 boxes of my old LPs they have gone with me wherever I get to. Just bought the Nov. - Dec. edition of Analog at Al's News when I was in Grande Prairie almost two months ago to pick up a pair of Hardy fly reels I bought on marketplace. Still haven't finished reading it. Might get a subscription to it and Asimov's. They said they weren't finding Asimov's in their deliveries probably because too many were going back unsold. Don't people like sci-fi any more or is it because it's a real book and that's going out of fashion unless it's got lots of pictures and a simple story line like comic books graphic novels.

Google an old sci-fi story from 1951 by C.M. Kornbluth called The Marching Morons. Not a long read but an accurate prescient missive about the times we have become. Public domain. Basically caused by what we have been doing as a society all over the world. The educated, intelligent people have been limiting their contributions to the gene pool while people like tRumps great unwashed masses, the uneducated he loves so much have been breeding like bunnies. Bunnies aren't vermin right so no need to talk about exterminating anyone. :)

It's almost a scary story because it all seems so likely to happen.

I think the comment out of nowhere. But I guess the comment was removed. So if somebody like Rogan (is that his name, I am not up on popular culture) says something hateful we can not say he is an asshole. Maybe just skip the whole trans thing all together? But with US politics it will come up again, never mind, it was an off the cuff remark anyway.
