brother i just look into your par meter,

the company that makes that meter also makes a cheaper one for 60 usd that tests up to 6000 umol,

i kinda feel like buying the cheap one and testing it too see if its accurate lmfao :)

good job on buying a par meter btw i currently use a lux meter and it sucks trying too guesstimate how much photons my plants are getting :(

And this will definitely taking the guessing out of the equation because it gives you a number and that must be accurate. After all it is incredibly cheap.

The fact that they say PAR and meant to say PPFD is not bothering anyone?

i assumed it was a par meter and a ppfd or umole meter or whatever its called, at the same time?
here is picture of how it measures the par of the blue green and red in the light separately

Have you tried using Photone in the glaring light without blocking the light.

I bought this one so I don't have to. The sensor can also be placed anywhere.

Phone apps suck, your phone isnt designed nor meant to be an accurate light meter. They have an ambient light sensor that detects levels of brightness on a pretty vague level, id even trust my $35 lux meter over my phone. I cant imagine needing to spend more unless i start growing big rooms of plants, this has gotten my tents dialed in just fine. https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Meter-LX1330B-Digital-Illuminance-Light/dp/B005A0ETXY/ref=sr_1_6?crid=3O9SY076FCQ8E&keywords=dr+meter&qid=1707071013&sprefix=dr+met,aps,347&sr=8-6

No. PAR is measured in PPFD, they called it what it is.
No, par is photosynthetically active radiation and ppfd is photosynthetic photon flux density (umol/[m^2*s]). Par can also be measured as photosynthetic photon flux (ppf, umol/s) or photosynthetic photon efficiency (umol/J) or daily light integral (dli, mol/[m^2*day]).

So yeah, if you sell a measuring tape and it says "size" instead of length that would reduce your confidence in it's accuracy.

lmfao probably too much right? :P butit looks like i got a nice yield :D(my tops foxtailed really bad but the buds under them were nice and perfect shape)

i would still like too have a ppfd or umole meter or whatever it would be nice :)

I was looking at that too. I have far red in my light. Far red LED is in the middle.

I have the Spider Farmer Evo SF1000 light.

Secretmicrogrow420, PM me your address (or a PO box) and I'll send you one of these for free. :D I bought one, then my wife gave me one for my birthday a couple days later. I didn't have the heart to tell her. To top that, my neighbor quit growing and gave me a new Apogee MQ-500 for free. The least I can do is spread the love.

Yes, it's one of the reasons I use the Uni-T Bluetooth lux meter, paired with the PPFD app. It's a good combo for android. Do you have iphone or android?

I'm not trying to be a downer, but I'd be very leery about the accuracy of the meter you bought. Which is worse, no measurements or misleading measurements?

You know you can 'hold' the reading by holding your thumb down on the screen, then you can withdraw it and read it? Not recommending Photone but it's not.useless.
I keep forgetting about that. But I also don't have to risk dropping my phone again.

I have an Android 12 phone.

It doesn't have to be 100% accurate. Just consistent.
