No More Female 4-Stars: Franchetti Firing Leaves Top Ranks Filled by Men
1740719071010.png
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth fired Adm. Lisa Franchetti, the Navy's first female chief, last week without any clear explanation -- part of a purge of top uniformed leadership that included the Joint Chiefs chairman, who is Black, and sent shock waves across the military.

Franchetti's firing has left the military without a single woman in a four-star general or admiral leadership position

Trump supporters lose $12bn as president’s cryptocurrency collapses
HOW were they OK investing in Trump's crypto currency when he himself said crypto was a SCAM until the "stable genius" got in on the good side? NFT's,a website full of Trump trinkets inc. golden sneakers, bibles, and the infamous sandals that leave "TRUMP" imprinted in the sand at beaches,WTF did these people think, "THEY" were going to make money??

Since Trump and team are so enamored w/Russia,you'd think all those WW2 images of Russian WOMEN w/chest's full of medals would have some influence.

I read the article. So, in fairness to your post, in which I think you should leave the "Biden buddy" shit on the floor, they didn't explicitly say that Medicare/Medicaid will specifically be affected. Since I'm not American, I had to look up which federal programs are involved, aside from the 10% medicare/aid.

Here's a list of programs they'll need to make the cuts to meet their proposed budget. Which ones do you think they will cut?

From Wikipedia: United States House Committee on Energy and Commerce - Wikipedia
  • health care, including mental health and substance abuse
  • health insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid
  • biomedical research and development
  • food, drug, device and cosmetic safety
  • environmental protection
  • clean air and climate change
  • safe drinking water
  • toxic chemicals and hazardous waste
  • national energy policy
  • renewable energy and conservation
  • nuclear facilities
  • electronic communications and the internet
  • broadcast and cable television
  • privacy, cybersecurity and data security
  • consumer protection and product safety
  • motor vehicle safety
  • travel, tourism and sports
  • interstate and foreign commerce
R's = TIMBER,same as it always was,Fiscal "Watchdogs" when in the minority and Budget be Damned when in the majority, I'll surely be witnessing a plethora of contractors rushing to the the whims (renovating a 5 yo kitchen etc.) of the wealthy and their multi-million dollar ocean-side homes that they "reside" in for ONE month while I'm roasting in the sun at work w/their new bounty, that and the stock buy backs by Corps.

Numbers are now apparently alternative facts open to Trump's interpretations. By all reputable accts. the US "aid",I use italics because apparently Trump has it as a "loan/debt" is 150M tops and it's said only 100M has actually been delivered. Grand-daddy Orange has it at 350M and is ready to send leg-breakers to collect, meanwhile Elon and crew pretty much come up w/a figure from ruthless/reckless cuts and multiply by a thousand as 2M becomes 2 B, and in a bizarre reality the outcry that should result is toned down to a whimper. The Roy Cohn lie, fabricate, spin, deflect, attack until their dizzy is now ingrained in our politics, will truths/facts ever see the light of day?

I predict if the boycotts are effective that we will see lawsuits against the leaders. After all it isn't illegal not to buy things so they will try and stop the instigators. They will do that in conjunction with a little honey to get you on their side. The media will do their part and the suckers will continue to be suckered. We have a real battle ahead and we need to stay strong and united, we are the majority. The media won't even tell you that by the way.

Anger over brutal Trump-Musk cuts erupts at town halls everywhere
While Republican U.S. House and Senate members rammed through a budget resolution that ruthlessly slashes Medicaid and other vital human services to fund massive tax cuts for plutocrats, they are hiding from growing anger among their constituents.

Scenes from eight raucous Town Halls held last week went viral, and now GOP leadership is telling members not to hold in-person town halls, fearing voter backlash

I wasn't really jazzed when the Atlantic took over Washington Week (on PBS Friday nights), but I have came around. They do a good job with the show and their reportage in general. The lady who does a lot of the international stuff is married to the Polish Foreign Affairs dude. She spends half the year there, and half in Washington.
