sticking this, dude I wish you the best of luck, we need someone to innovate our current processes. If you can successfully pull this off and get a serious yeild you would have sold me
Hey pimp, Thes pics are great, any chance of getting you to take some more, more detailed on the res. and pump system. I've been wanting to build one of these same exact units but still not clear on they operate. Thanks man!LOL, love the avatar 420! I'm going to use the LED's and the two T5's that are part of the unit I have now. I'm so impressed with these lights that I want to give them a chance and see what I get. At worst I'll get some fluffy bud, at best I might disprove the notion that HPS is the only light worth flowering with. It's worth it to me for the experiment. I'm not going to worry about the little one; I'll be putting these into flower next week after less than a monthfrom seed. I'm not going to let them get much bigger than a foot tall in the veg unit. I will be ID'ing each one and after a week in flower I'll be taking some clones. Hopefully, a week or so later I'll be able to sex these and toss out the males and any male clones that came from them. They are really smelling sweet now, not too strong but just really nice.
I don't have as much space as Stinkbud so I had to modify my unit a little. I'm using 10 gal. Roughneck's rather than the 18's; that saves 15" of vertical space. I tucked the rez under the tubes to maximize the usable length. I only have 47" actual space in the grow cab so I can have 5 plants in each tube. Rather than have the water flow come into the end of the tubes I had to route it through the side to save a few more inches. These little mods made it possible for me to have an additional two plants in flower.
I thought I'd post some pix of the new flower unit.
Yes, I'm going to do a SOG using SCROG training. I've got 6 nodes this morning. Not too shabby for less than a month from seed. I'm not sold on the idea that LED's can't penetrate but a few inches. Personally I think all the "expert opinion" is from people that have never even seen an LED panel in real life. I have a MH and an HPS and could use them if I wanted to but I'm getting better results so far with this miserly system here.PP, that looks real fucking PIMP man!!!!!
But I gotta ask again, have you considered scrog?
The general consensus is the lower watt LEDs lack canopy penetration power, by scrogging, and you can with his system you have so professionally built, you will spread out the available light evenly, rather than just have it focussed on the tops.
Once again, wonderful job and wonderful pics, thanks
No problem, I've got another pump on order and it should be here next week. I can't go any further than I have until I get that so I know how long to cut the rest of the "plumbing". I've got a 395 pump in the veg unit but the rez's are the 18 gallon and are very tall and it's a PIA to take apart - especially with the babies in there. I'm almost certain that the 10 gallon tubs will do just as good. It's not like you have to have 5 gallons of water to do this; maybe 2-3 is plenty. Just wait til you see my clone unit!!Hey pimp, Thes pics are great, any chance of getting you to take some more, more detailed on the res. and pump system. Yep, the plan is to flower with only the LED's and the little T5's. Since it's a perpetual harvest, what matters most to me is the knowledge I get from this experiment. I am willing to sacrifice a little bud for that.
Nice,
I like the new flower unit. I read stink buds thread too and want to make a smaller version. Thanks for the pics. I need mine to be modular so I can move it a block at a time but the pics give me a better idea of what I need to do. I'm thinking quick connects.
Boy, you have been busy. and CO2 cool man.
Grow is looking Fantastic,
Did I get you right, You are not going to use the 400W HPS at all on this grow?
I guess it will be fun to see for yourself.
Good luck
Plants look great! I was a little worried when I saw the sad pic, but they picked up again fast.Today was an early Christmas for me. My new TDS meter came in; my new bubble hash bags came in and my new environment monitor came in (for CO2, heat, cooling, and humidity). I've spritzed my babies several times today and they are perking up pretty good - just a little slower than I was expecting.
