Hi Kush - I think this thread is pretty much mine, as Blu says it landed in the wrong place. I happened upon it and asked his advice on growing since I really have a hard time with technical set-ups and descriptions of set-ups. There are just millions of set-ups. So he gave me some good advice - also others came in on this with good advice.

Just thought you would like an answer.

I grew16 plants under flourescent and averaged well over a pound per plant (wet) in about 12 weeks. I'll try super cropping with pear next....but considering what very little I did for these plants, I'm more than willing to bet I can get over 2 pounds per plant.

I have a legal medical grow in cali, this is a felony everywhere! So...really...come on, you can be honest...it's just us gullible pot heads here...did you maybe, just maybe...make this up? Think about the area that 16 cannabis plants which yielded a qp each would take up. Now imagine the overhead and side lighting that would be required to try to obtain these kinds of yields. Add this to the imagined area. Now add up the imagined watts used and ask why again. Remember this is not even high output T5's. So again, are you full of shit or completely out of you mind desperately seeking a meaningful long term relationship with your celly (cell mate)in the DOC (Department of Corrections) ROFLMAO (rolling on floor laughing my ass off) thanks, laughter is good for the soul...so is confession, or so I have heard. My 600W HPS couldn't even do 1 lb per plant I want to know how flouros could. If that is true we have all been wasting time and money.

Oh Mr. Knowledgeable please show us pictures and teach us your ways and we will all bow down to you (if your for real of course).

So under flouros 1 lb of wet weight equals what? Less than 1/8 ounce, now that I would believe.

As for a pound a plant, I believe it is possible under the right circumstances, but I have no idea how. And a pound would most likely be the wet weight, which would end up with about 6 ounces per plant, which still seems a bit high. Although I would love it!

Its easy enough to get an ounce per plant, which for an actual medicinal purpose would be quite enough for a while. As for us potheads..... thats another story. lol. I could go through an ounce in a week easily enough. I've done it in a day lol

But I only veg 4 plants and grow about 2 females on average per grow. I usually get about an ounce in a half to two and a half ounces per plant, which satisfies me fine. I start vegging 4 more each time I start flowering, have a harvest every 8 week or so. I veg for like 6-7 weeks. 4 ounces every two months suffices me and my two friends quite well. Well... we dont have to buy any at least

oh, and people in california... I live here too, in southern cali, and just cause you have your med card does not mean it is legal. Federal law can still fuck you over. You just have a better chance of fighting it in court.

And the name of the thread again? Actually the name of thread is not very nice. Please make sure that you get more advice than from someone who is making crap up about growing weed instead of studying for their high school final exams. CFL = Compact fluorescent Lighting. Usually spiral bulbs that plug into regular sockets. Some are not spiral and the higher wattage require a larger socket (mogul base) and usually are unballasted, meaning the light is not complete, and needs to be screwed into a specific fixture which includes the ballast. Regular CFL's are available everywhere. If you are near a wal-mart they carry GE brand 42w bulbs (replaces 150 watt incandescent [normal bulbs]) and they are under $9 USD each. They are considered to be cool (heat wise) but I disagree! They work really well, but once you have enough watts, you are up to the same wattage as HID (High Intensity Discharge) lighting and the energy not put into photons of light are emitted as heat. I know for a fact (personal experience) that 420 watts of CFL are HOTTER than 400w HPS with remote ballast. Less heat, more light. CFL's are cheaper only in the short run, but fun. Cfl's also come in different spectrums or colors. 2700K (kelvin, not the temp though) good for flower and emit light in the red end of the spectrum (the wal-mart bulbs) and 5500-6500K blue light for veg. I have found these more difficult to find in small wattage. Hardware stores sell the larger wattage 6500K cfls as security home lighting (require the fixture too!). There are lots of people who grow with these on RIU (roll it up)

Feel free to pm me (private message) I also live in Oregon, and might be able to help you? I know of some 150w hps with self contained ballasts. The are very affordable, and I have had decent results with them.

I admit I don't know a novice from the experienced. But I will give people the benefit of the doubt. It is the Christmas season anyway - a time to be lenient.

But maybe you could comment on one thing. First thanks for the excellent description about the lights. I do live about 1/2 mile from a Walmart.

I finally got around to checking out some of the websites that sell pot seeds and I think they really ask too much for them. I see it as price gouging. The lowest was $35 for 15 seeds. The more exotic strains ask $100, $200, on up for 15 seeds. Don't you think this is ridiculous? It certainly makes me consider just finiding a grower.
