rubbermaid grow (w/pics)

hey, what's up? i am starting a rubbermaid grow with CFL's
i set the lights up along with the intake & outtake fans
all i need to do now is find some reflective material
i was just wondering.. which would be more effective?
mylar, wrapping paper, panda film or flat white paint?

any opinions would be greatly appreciated..

first picture - top half with lights off
second picture - top half with lights on
third picture - bottom & top half lights on

i mixed the lights up with three 6500k & four 2700k..

any of those would work. If it were me I would use mylar or foil tape

i stopped by some places to grab some things
& none of the places i went to had mylar nor the foil tape
i did get some wrapping paper that resembles mylar though
i attached pictures of what it looks like along with what soil i am going to use
i used miracle gro moisture control & scotts potting soil
this time i am going to try & use peat moss mixed with perlite

does anyone think that's a bad idea? just wondering

it's so hard to get that on the rubbermaid
i went out to get glossy white paint
i know people have said flat white
but i felt i should try the glossy instead

Nice job on the bins / lights. For using bins it looks very professional and clean the way you set it up. I think I am going to steal your idea for a cloning/veg chamber. Do you have hinges on that bad boy? If so can you show a pic of them?

i got the idea from google search lol
i don't have any hinges on the rubbermaid
i want to though, i'm still trying to figure it out
when i get the chance for a good way to use it
i'll be sure to PM you or whatever on how i did it

i'm thinking about throwing 2 plants in there
i always grew 1 at a time due to limited space
this time i have a bit more space for another plant
so, i might just go ahead & try 2 this time

if you go to any hardware store they have foil tape man. Flat white is better than glossy white but either is better than what you got. I just like the foil tape cause it blocks light in or out and dont have a chemical smell. Anyways good luck with your grow I will keep checkin back!

oh, i tried looking for it
they had electrical tape & duct
my hardware & local garden shops suck
they literally have NOTHING i want/need

on another note
will the chemical smell/aroma mess with my grow?

all they have is miracle gro & scotts
miracle gro nutes, bone meals & such
& more than half the stuff they have are garden/lawn things

Not true, glossy paint actually reflects less than flat white paint. Mylar is best trust me. I started with flat whie paint and upgraded to mylar. The difference was amazing. Nothing reflects like mylar. Don't go cheap, and your plants will thenk you, along with your lungs when you smoke some fat dank buds!!!

home depot, wal-mart, k-mart, ac moore, arts & kraft stores
even my 2 local garden centers didn't have mylar

where did you get your mylar from?
besides online, i'm not ordering jack shit from online
if that was the case i would have mylar now
i would even have fox farms nutes & soil

sorry if it sounds like i'm copping an attitude
i'm just real pissed because i wasted loads of gas money
just to go out & drive around looking for mylar
& other decent supplies for me to use to grow

Well, what is your location, nothing specific, just a state to start, maybe what major city you are near. If you want PM me that so it's not on here publicly.
I got my mylar and all supplies from a hydro store about 30 minutes from me. I have to drive for it but it is worth it. All the places you checked do not even carry mylar, it's really only sold in hydro stores, or online.

Why so scared to order online? Did you get seeds or are you just using bagseeds. I have ordered lots off line, including Ebay, they have all kinds of stuff. It sold from hydro stores on ebay that ship right to you, in stealth shipping boxes.

Definatly, need to take back glossy paint if ya' can or get another can of flat white. No matter what lights you have flat white will reflect light better than glossy.

Do a google search on hydro stores in your city. It will give you results based on distance from you and pick one that's close.

& it's not that i'm afraid to order online
i have ordered a couple of pipes & bongs here & there
but i just don't feel the need to get those supplies online
i would much rather get them in person (i don't know why)
i only bought pipes & bongs online because head shops are super far

Got a few results.....

These are the closest locations for you. Like i said it might be a drive, but it's better than driving all over to look for something and waste gas money. If it takes you 20 minutes to get there and 20 minutes back, it's still faster than driving around town all day checking every store. Plus you get real prices on nutes, mylar, and everything. That wrapping paper stuff is what i used at first and in my opinion is better than paint, but not as good as mylar from the dro shop. But' it will work untill you find some real mylar. Just use cardboard strips to put in front of the paper, then shoot a staple through it to hold the paper on the wall. Or if it is on drywall just use push tacks(thumb tacks).

mylar emergency blankets in the camping section of walmart theyre like 2 bucks but flat white is pretty much badass because its a lot easier to clean

use the paper dont be lazy just use glue sticks thats what i did.... also paint it becausee youll have see through spots where the glue is... trust me use that paper!!!

the film will be kind of in the way in that super tight space. Why dont you just spray paint the inside with some glossy white paint.


This is really crazy though, I never thought of such a tiny grow.
