L.E.D lighting

Glow Panel 40 watt 10mm LED
GH Hydro Farm
GH Nute
cool Bloom Added
17"x24" grow space (Linen closet)

First Grow ever.
Most of the buds have almost all red hair. Flushing with clearex starting this week

Was contemplating staggered harvest versus full plant harvest starting next week.

However, I just noted formation of round balls on some lower buds. I think my plant is turning into hermaphrodite and I guess I should harvest entire plant.

What do you guys think?

Hate to say it guys, but LED's are the way to go. I have invested heavily in LED technology, I currently am running 85 watts in my flower chamber and 23W in my veg/mother cupboard. I have no fans, no cooling necessary, room temps 75-80 with lights on. I have cut my nutrient and water costs by half, there is no evaporation, so growing in coco I water every 3-5 days, using 50% less nutes per watering too. My only problem has been slight mold in the coco due to it staying wet for so long. If anyone is interested in where I get my lights, ask me, n ill get u the link. I wont have to replace my lights for 7 years. thats a lot of grows.

The pics are of some peppers in dirt, to show ya the speed of the growth capable under LED's the pics are dated 8-24 and 9-16, lights on 24-7 for 2 weeks, 12-12 for a week to induce flowering. From sprouts to 2 foot plants in 2 weeks. got some yummie peppers off these. This was a temp setup between grows. I will post current pics, I just started a flower cycle so will do weekly updates.

Cheers.

yo, did u get ur leds from htg? its the ones im using i got some pistils shooting out and im at day 10 of flowering, pretty excited

Other benefits... my power bill averages 30$ a month, and I work on my computer all day. No thermal image at all. less heat than a 100w incandescent. more pics for ya too. My Mom which needs topped now that its too tall for my cabinet. and my aero-cloner, love that thing.

ok leds are bullshit. I made the mistake of buying 6 bulb shaped 14 watt ones and 1 50 watter panel. They suck, my 600w hid shits on it. obviously no question. one of my 68 or 65 watt 6500k or 2700k cfls alone produce better results than all the leds combined... might try using the leds for cloning.. doubt it tho because they light up my livingroom and look sweet. I still want to invest in led technology tho.. a Taiwanese company now makes 100 watt leds, i hope i can afford to special order some one day i bet 5-10 of them would kill hid. i'd hope. for now, go cfl if you have to or hid, its faster to grow and both produce much more. dont get me wrong tho led looks baller as hell i think. thats all they have going tho.

The led UFO (HIDHUT not chinese knock offs)
and procyon are both good for veg but lack the additional specturms for good flowering.
The TI smarlamp and HIDHUT supernova are the latest lights and they have both gone with a wider spectrum.

Alot of people saying leds are shit got burned by chinese knock offs and cheap pieces of crap on ebay that dont even have the correct spectrums.

Im not postive but didnt hightimes say that when they tested the UFO they found higher THC levels? I wanna see an alaskan ice led grow :eyesmoke:

Nope didn't get mine from HTG, Mine actually out perform theirs. I have also found some great deals on eBay for some cheap smt strips that I mounted on an old reflector that I dont need, works great!! and some single chip 3w red and blues that were 6 bux each. pics of those for ya.

If you want alot of thc follow jorge cervantes, his book is cheaper than an led and will prolly help you to get even better results. hell 500 for a ufo or 300 for c02... tough one lol. for the love of god i wish and end to the led debate.. i give up. leds rock. i said it

you need to search on youtube thc+ uv light. When I see trichomes I add a uvb lizard light for 5 hours a day. There is not enough uvb output from any aritficial lighting. The UFO led Sucks. Dont buy it. Growwithleds.com is the only place to get your main source led lights. I buy the 18" 30 led strips from ebay, these have worked great over my cloner and mom. I get roots in 4 days. My last harvest yeilded 1/2 oz per plant. not bad for 15 watts of light per plant.

co2 is only needed as a supplement under hi-heat lighting, without the elevated temps the plant dosent aspirate enough to warrant any added co2

Gosh every body brings up cost. LED's are an investment. You will get your money back 10 fold if you get the right ones. My whole light setup costs less to run than a SINGLE 100 Watt bulb! Thats both veg and flower chambers. Most of you guys running 400's or 1000's have at least one 100 watt fan running when that light is on. I estimate my ANNUAL expense for running my lights at under $100. I will have 7-10 years of harvests before I have to buy another bulb. so ya the initial buy in was 500 bux or so, but I wont have to buy or repair a ballast, ever, or replace a bulb every 4 harvests. Dont get me wrong, the old HPS and MH bulbs work, but so do vinyl records.....

I have read that unless your ambient temp is above 90deg f. that adding co2 is wasteful, a plant can only aspirate so much per hour, unless the plant is stressed by high heat like under a HPS it dosent do anything beneficial. Do you add Co2 to your veg chamber under fluoros? I've only ever seen co2 added to flowering chambers with hi heat lighting.

If anyone wants to check out, or purchase the LED's that I use go to Growwithleds.com, tell em Detchord sent ya. And no Im not a sales man for them, I just like their product and want to help out my fellow hobbiests.

more pix... anyone wanna see somthin specific about my setup lemme know!!!

I replaced my 1000w hps with led's I was sick of the $300 power bills. my ladies grow faster, never get burnt, reduced my grow area significantly, got rid of my fan system, and generally improved the environment all together. I refuse to use CFL or t5 fluros, except my uvb light, cause they have mercury in them. uvb led's are still extremely expensive. My grow op is the most eco-friendly you can get. Organic nutes, coco, and LED's.

well i am posting pics of my grow as it happens, I intend on convincing all of you that they work, and are worth the investment.

Dont try to convince them. They are set on their HPS grow. Until they get LED's and see the difference... they will remain skeptical.. But I do agree with them... HPS = FAT NUGSSSSSSSSS:weed:
I think Ccanine needs to show everyone his pretty ladies...

detchurd no disrespect but those plants look ill , look at how skinny and stretched they are , there is hardley any leaf structure , and look at the massive space between nodes ....all classic signs of poor /not enough lighting , a plant that tall should be a mass of leaves .
