Gravy weed

I was at a friends place the other day and he had some nice looking weed but upon closer inspection something didnt seem quite right. He told me that the greedy bastard he got it from mixes gravy powder into his buds to increase the weight.

Has anyone else come across this shifty shit?

I personally wouldnt even take his weed if he was giving it away for free.

Whats your thoughts on this deceiving practice?

I've heard of bud being laced with brown sugar. but it hasn't happened to me before...or at least i didn't notice.

I won't buy a bag of weed until I look at it and smell it and feel it.I can usually tell by the smell if it's gonna be good.I get this little shiver up my spine...like a chemical reaction to the smell.Pot is good aroma therapy.

The smell of the gravy weed was a little different and not very potent so that was the first givaway because it was very nice looking buds. Then once I picked it up and played with a bud in my hand I could see a fine powder left in the palm of my hand. I know its not as bad as some other cutting agents such as ground glass but it still ruins what would have been some great weed.

I totally agree, I just meant, at least if you smoked it, it shouldn't do anything Too bad to your lungs, lol.

Gravy powder is blended to a dust and coated onto the buds lightly when they are still damp.
When the buds are dried its not really noticeable except on close inspection.
Its a pathetic trick and only gains you about 3-5 grams per ounce.
Crackles when you burn it and smells a bit odd,its also not good for your lungs at all:neutral:

Im not sure how much he adds to a pound but if its one tin of gravy powder which is about 180-200 grams then he is adding a possible 6 ounces to his pound but that sounds like way too much to be unnoticeable to most. I wouldnt have a clue how much he adds because if you didnt know much about weed then you would never notice it was in there.

That sounds like exactly what he would be doing. How much gravy powder per pound would you say they usually put?

Not good for the lungs? Whats the worst it can do because I would like to inform others around here not to smoke this weed if its bad for you but I would need some more info on why otherwise they may think its ok.

They used to mix a lot of it,and maybe still do,but only into hash powder before pressing.
I haven't bough any street crap for a long time.
I have heard of a lot of people complaining of this but as far as i know you can only really get away with adding a couple of grams per ounce of weed,maybe 5 grams per ounce max.
Still i suppose on a pound that's 16x5=80.
So an extra 80 grams per pound.
Some people have no morals at all,simple as that:leaf:

ive been smoking weed for almost 20 years and never come accross anything like that.... do you ppl just buy from random ppl on the street or somthin... you have no regular dealer that always has his shit on point??? ... i just can't understand it....

Do you all have testing kits in the US for when you have to buy from a shady source?
And yes dealers here in the UK come and go sometimes on a weekly basis.
The UK is riddled with backstabber's and grasses(narks).
This is why i grow my own:leaf:

I bought an ounce from my guy in the city it was brick dope at 85 $ and o and this particular bag had a fucking dime in the middle of all the weed

they just spray it down with water to make it weigh more when they sell it to you here.. then 1-2 days later it dries and ur like WTF?!?!?
