my 400 watt hps is gettin up to 85

I like 70 to 75 degrees myself. Plants seem to do very well in that range plus it gives you a little cushion in case something happens like a fan goes out and your temps will not skyrocket if you catch it half quickly and you will not end up with a problem.

If you cant get it lower, 85 F is not a horrible temp. Only after 90+ does growth really slow and hurt the plant. I know some plants that desire 80-82 for optimal growth. What kind of seeds/clones do you have??? ive found that anything with a good amount of sativa in the breed likes the high temp and likes to sweat under higher heat. Another fan like blzblob suggested would help drop the temp a couple numbers at least. It will at least circulate the hot air around the gorw room evenly.

85 is okay, but you don't leave much room for problems like they said of fan failures, etc.

I run 85 degrees during veg and during the first few weeeks of flower (only to keep my costs down), then beyond that when my buds are precious to me, I run my portable A/C for the rest of the grow. I like to try to keep it to the last 4 weeks, but this time it might be 5 weeks.

They are a good investment, they lower humidity during flower as well.

Mine does suck down like 1300w so I try to only run it during the end times. Veg I don't have my plans in a little "grow room", they just chill out in my bathroom under floro's and it doesn't get too hot.

But during the last 4 weeks of flower also the stink can get pretty strong so I need a sealed up grow room with an exhaust through a carbon filter. Can't do things like open a door and blow cold air into the grow room, just blows hot stink out and you lose odor control.

Portable A/C my friend...

You can blow in all the cold air you want, but the main thing is, how are you getting the HOT air out? You should be exhausting 2X the amount of air comming in, called negative pressure.. You want to be sucking harder than blowing.... So what is the CFM rating of you fan blwing out?
CFMout/CFMin = 2

a window pretty fuckin cold its prob 30 egrees its cold in indiana how do u post pics in here

Hmm thats odd then that the heat is so high. If you can afford it , the easiest thing would be to buy an air cooled reflector so that all the heat form the bulb gets vented out before it even gets into the grow room.

Other than that im not sure. Not sure how you post pics either.

So, you have sub zero temps coming in, and 2 strong fans blowing out. I don't understand how it is possible to have temps at 85, something is not jiving. How big is your room?
I have 70 degree air coming in, and when the fan is working good, I pull 220CFM and can keep my temps at 75-80... So I don't know.
