Whats up guys, just started 4 seeds and now have them in plastic cups under one 19w 840 lumen cfl, is this enough to have on them until they come above soil? I just grabbed this bulb out of our light fixture for the time being lol. Well the seeds seem to be taking root well and hopefully i will see a sprout or 4 in a couple days! I bought some miracle grow organic choice soil that i have the seeds in now and will probably go snag some more to mix into the earth ill be transplanting them to. Ill try to periodically post pictures to keep yall updated. these are just bagseed of some low end/middle grade stuff so im hoping for a decent yield. great site, glad to be a part of it. stay up everyone.

ok cool well then ill hit up the store tomorrow and get a 23 watter with somethin like 1000 lumens to help my 19w 840 lumen bulb and see how that works out. thanks for the help guys its truly appreciated. i gotta figure up a way to get into my setup easier tho now so i can keep the babies watered. speaking of water i have been dribbling bottled water onto em about twice a day, enough or too much? so many questions lol i feel like im thinking about this way too much, i just wanna do it right and get a decent yield.

Well guys i finally got some pictures of the girls. they seem to be doing ok, one is turned yellow and another lost a leaf but they will pull thru. Now onto the picutures!

Best looking so far

The floppy one

The yellow one

And last but not least the gimp lol the leaf came off today when she finally shed the seed

Anyone have any ideas as to why the one is yellowing? I dont think its too terrible i will just wait for the next stack of leaves to show. Thanks for all the help guys. Stay up!

cool man, i think sprouting seeds is almost as enjoyable as watching them bud! the yellow one should pull through, its probably just the seed was a lil messed up they usually grow out fine though. i would suggest sprouting more, only 4 is real risky considering male/female probabilities. it would suck to end up with all males after all that dedication.either way good luck and be smart.

ya im actually gunna sprout some more but plant em straight into soil outdoors after germing them. Figured if a few of em turn to females and at least 2 of these 4 stay fem. i could get a really nice harvest!

Okay, try to get 23 or 26 watt 6500k (1350 or more lumens) cool or outdoor cfl bulbs. They sell them everywhere, I bought mine at Lowe's. Try to have at least two per plant. These bulbs I mentioned are better for vegetative purposes than the warm or soft 2700k cfl bulbs. Some reflective material will help them get bushy. Lowe's also has a moisture meter for six bucks, use it to see if the plants need water, make sure cups have pinholes in bottom for drainage. Do not do like I did and overwater, the leaves will droop. I use the same MG organic soil, mix in some perlite if you haven't already, it helps with drainage of excess water. I am in the northeast and I put out one of my plants as a test, it was 50's and sunny during day, 30's at night, covered it with a box at night to prevent frost/freeze. It was a healthy plant, four leave sets and bushy. Well, too soon, it died, temps too cold at night. So, seedlings are too fragile to put out, the animals and insects will eat them too quickly. Try to get your plants at least a foot tall and have a fan blowing on them to promote strong stem growth, it will help with transplant. Hope this helps, peace.

Also, I forgot to mention, if you haven't already, dig up your grow sites and check soil consistency. If it is clay they won't do well, dig a 3x3x3 site up and mix in some MG organic soil with it. When you put out your plants, mix in blood and bone meal (cheap at Lowe's) and piss around the site to keep animals away, use dog hair if you have any it will keep deer away, mothballs work well too to keep away critters. Good luck, I have six plants inside and just started sexing, they are three to four weeks old, I think I may have two females out of six. Going to keep one inside and put the other outside, then this week starting some new bagseeds and hoping for more females, plan to have at least five females outside this year. Any questions just ask, learned alot on this site and just hoping to help you get some bud! Peace

Wow man thanks for all the advice, i will def. be going to home depot or lowes today to get a 4 pack of the 6500k lights cuz i read last night about the whole flowering/vegging temps of the lights. I was going to buy those y sockets to put the lights into but i have no clue how to wire them up so i can get power to them. And is there any other super cheap substitutes to those y sockets that i can just plug into an outlet in my wall? lol i have only spent 20 bucks so far and tryin to keep the costs low, wish i would have bought the right lights the first time tho haha. Ill be heading out to prep the grow site as the plants mature a little bit more and will definitely do all i can to keep away the critters. Thanks again for the help man its much appreciated. Stay up.

yeah, man you shouldn't plant with ferts because the plants dont need nutes untill there in the veg. state.. there yellow because there's to much nutes

What I did was buy the outlets that have the clamp with reflector, six bucks at walmart, people use them for painting and workshops, etc... I then just took off the reflector (the y adapter wont fit with reflector, it screws out), screwed in a y adapter then screwed in two other y adapters so I have a total of four lights for each outlet. Then I just took some rope and hung the lights from the clamping mechanism, off down from a shelf in my closet. Then you just lower and raise the lights as needed, I'm assuming you are growing in closet, etc... If you are doing a stealth grow in a box of some sort, just get a power strip, attach it to the top of the box and get plug in adapters which have a y (at your local hardware store), they plug right in to the power strip, you can get a total of at least eight lights by this method. Then cut out a hole for a fan and put in a computer fan or other small fan to bring in fresh air then also cut out another hole for air to escape. Seems complicated but it really is not. Hope this helps, peace

what soil have u got them in not knockin u mate but it looks a little coarse, but the sprouts look quality, i use seedling soil from baq which is fine as fuck and says there is anough nutes for 8 wks in the soil. are your roots stong in that dirt

cloudy01

o shit i didnt think about that...i think the roots are pretty solid, i accidently tipped one over and it stayed where it was even after soil fell out.

Just wanted to reiterate not to forget to mix Perlite into soil when you transplant to bigger pots, you can use 1/3 perlite to soil. I bought the miracle grow perlite with nutes mixed in, just hand mixed it into the soil. Your babies look a little stretched, make sure the lights are 1-2 inches from the top of seedling. So far so good, it was only 4 weeks ago that my babies were that small, they grow fast. Remember the ratio for grow medium, one foot of plant=1gallon of soil, if you want them to stay small u can use 1.5 gallon bucket. Let me know how you are doing, peace.
