Guys i need your help i dont want toget arrested

ON march 27th 2009 i gave my credit card to a person i didnt really know. I met this guy at my job who told me he can get me money withdrawn from an ATM. So i know this sounds pretty stupid and fucked up , But i kept on listening to the dude. And before i knew it he gave me his 2 credit cards and i gave him mine.

The deal was , is that he would have to get a pin number from me in order to withdraw money from the atm in a money gram order. It sounded legit to me, and i know what i was doing is illegal.

Now what happened is that the dude basically charged $200 of gas on the card, and then when he got my pin number he withdrew $1000.00 from an atm.

My credit card company called me shortly after all this mess and they said that there were suspicious activity on my card so they locked it. I told them that i had just lost it, and was shocked by the charges....


Now i'm really fucked , i knew what i did was wrong. My credit card company wants me to file a police report today or tomorow so they can get ATM VIDEO of the dude withdrawing the money.


NOw i really have no idea wat to tell the poilce, I dont want to lie, but I also dont want to go to jail!!!!

SO please if at all could you help me, i'm really screwed!!

Just don't say a word. There are a million and one credit card fraud charges ea day and they just don't investigate them much at all. Maybe they will look at the video and be looking for that guy. Maybe they catch him, and maybe he says exactly what happened. You get asked if this is true and you say no. Who are they going to believe?

The only way I see you really getting in trouble is if you are on the ATM video with the guy while getting the money.

And from now on you won't be such a gullible victim right?

ok but the problem is.. the credit card company investigator called me up and said that its strange that who ever got my card logged into my account online with my username and password... And then requested a PIN number... Then the next day he used the pin number...


LIke thats the only thing that i'm worried about is if they find out i did that. Can they prove that??? ANd thanks for your help im a nervous wreck right now

The problem is that he used your pin. If someone stole your card they would not have your pin unless it was written on the card or somewhere in your wallet.

Don't do shit like this ever again.

ok well i need something to tell the police, i think i'm gunna say i had my username and password on the back of the card because i always forget.... i know this was stupid, everyone is telling me to lie... while others are telling me to tell the truth

You should be fine - the fact that he requested a new pin online makes it look even more like identity theft than you giving out your info. You didn't request the new pin using your computer though did you?

I told my friend once how I used to steal travelers checks from my paretns and then forge the sig and cash em. (I maybe did this twice in highschool). So he goes out and in two days cashes $2000 of his dads money. Of course the bank called him and my retarded friend got into a shitload of trouble. Lesson is - DON'T STEAL - no offence but your obviously not very good at it.

As long as you tell the cops you use the same login and pass for other things you'll be fine. Maybe your bank login is the same as your RUI account and thats how someone got your info. Not real hard to steal peoples info on forums :) Just act natural - if the cops see that you've put too much thought into this you'll end up looking really suspicious.

I even carry some numbers on a card in my wallet that I can't remember. Pin, combinations, etc, written on the back of a business card.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE HELP GUYS HONESLTY!! but yea i did request the pin number from my HOME COMPUTER. But i'll just tell the cops then that i lost my card with the sticky note on it and it had my username and password.... ya know thats all i'm gunna tell them. A

ANd i'm gunna say that i didnt want to call it lost or stolen cuz the charge me a fee. and then i end up finding the damn card anyways...

Tell them you just changed your pin, so you wrote it on a paper and then tell them you saw the guy going through your locker or something. That explains how he got your card number, why you logged on, and puts him on the spot.

I can't believe you just handed over your credit card and pin number to a guy you don't really even know.

What a stupid thing to do. You also logged on from your home computer, they're going to know that, I'm sure they do already.

Why would you do something so dumb? If you've got a grow, I'd get rid of it. With all the failing banks, I doubt credit card fraud is something they're going to just ignore.
