Yes you can they have a gardening section but many stores completely close it during the off season. Shultz grow and Shultz bloom work pretty well if you are very careful not to overdo it.
Not as good as the proper stuff, but good enough to get decent growth and bud. Anything that says it's good for tomatoes... Tomatoes, weed, they need the same things.

i actually found a nursery down the street from my house which i never knew existed so check it out.
but the answer to your question is yeah i think so i would just look for some good NPK products which have what is necessary for a plant.

No I have no idea what shultz would do in hydro and I wouldn't expect results to be positive at all. At best probably a ph nightmare.

My Wal-Mart has re-opened the garden section for spring. No idea what they have for nutes though.
My suggestion would be to look at the NPK of FoxFarms Growbig (NPK: 3-2-6) and try to match that at WallyWorld. Read up on NPK ratios if you need to.

The Walmart here carries Liquid Alaskan Fish Emulsion fertilizers - Grow and Bloom as well as Superthrive. Bad news is that they are all gone within days and Walmart does not restock them.
Just wait until Walmart crosses that stigma line and stocks all of the hydro and soil and grow supplies you need at low prices. Remember that a corporation doesn't have a concious; only greed. It's just a matter of time.
