Alaskan ice is supposed to be good yeild...
I have heat issues so i'm running around 1000W of cfls. There are 7 plants in total and they are all foxtailing and they look bad.


This should say it all...

they are pretty close, I've had WW that had 4 times the bud at 6 weeks. It only had about 400W of cfl's.

yeah, not very impressive from the looks...I am using cfl's(300watts appx) in my grow, and it looks good, just over 7 weeks into flower(23 inch tall appx)...

What color rating are your bulbs?
How tall are your plants?

sort out the heat issues..maybe lose some of the cfls, and they will produce better.

Man Alaskan Ice is fucking Bomb!! Its not the seeds, its You!! I dont know how many times i can stress this, if you want a decent amount on your plants what ever you do Dont grow with shitty fucking CFLS. You would be looking at a substantial amount more if you grew with even a 400 watt HPS or MH. Cfls are NOT designed for growing plants PERIOD. Yea tecchnically you may have a thousand watts of CFL's going but the way its dispersed and the lumen count is fucking crap, not to mention the light spectrum. And to the post above mine stating that he had "four times as many buds with only 400 watts of CFL's"; that is still a shitty shitty yeild. If you want popcorn nugs and slow growth, go with CFL's. If you want Dense,Sticky stanky ass bomb go with actual Horticultar lamps I.E Hps and Mh.You might as well be using incandecent bulbs, you would get the same result as a CFL. Fuck people,when will you learn...

I disagree with you saying CFL's are utterly crap. Cfl's CAN grow potent quality marijuana. Sure the YEILD might be low, but rest assured, potency can still be quite high. Those pictures look to me like heat was a big issue in the plant's growth. How is the soil? Did you add any nutes that may have hurt your AI?

U may disagree, but the fact is there is no comparison to real deal horticulture lamps. Yes you can grow borderline potency herb. But you will Never grow truly superb quality weed. It just doesnt happen for a number of reasons. the biggest being the way the light is dispersed. It's like comparing Pabst Blue ribbon to a bottle of 151. The Blu ribbon is very watered down(CFLS) and the 151 is very concentraited(HPS & MH). Also like i stated earlyer the color spectrum is not designed for optimal plant production, its made for house lamps! The color spectrum plays a Huge part in plant growth and bud production. If your risking your freedom and rights why half ass it? Id be kicking my self in the balls if i got poped with a CFL set up. It really is not that much more money to buy a ballast and a hood and the bulb, when u factor in how much your going to make back it more than pays for its self after the first crop. I have a seventeen hundred dollar set up and it has More than payed for its self. Even when i first started out and i had a 400 watt MH it payed its way and i only grew 2 plants.

Wow there are so many things wrong with your 2 posts i cant even respond. You have truly proved what a noob you are. The facts are out there, you are in the wrong by far. Lets try to be a real grower and not just repeat thing we read on the internet. Please educate yourself on growing weed before you try to give advice. If you cant grow dense, dank, potent weed with cfls then your just not a good grower, sorry.:roll:

I veg under 125w CFL light and then flower under 400w hps. I've grown GHS's cheese with great results. No complaints here by using cfl & Greenhouse seed co.

sorry man i dont think that is the strain, do you mean you have 1000 watts equivalent or actual because i have never heard of a cfl grow that big.
Do you have 8 of the big 125w cfls or like 23 of the 42w cfls. If you have that many cfls its going to be as hot as HIDs.

Kinda curious as well as to if it is actually 1000w or 1000w equivalent. CFLs can put out great bud and decent quantities (i'm yielding 25.5g per 2ft plant hitting .45g/w). Perhaps you flowered really late letting the plants get too big causing poor light on budsites. Sucks bro.

Couple CFL buds for you CFL haters :)

who has the time to hang a 1000 watts of cfl,when you can hang 1-1000 and get way better quality.Im not hateing cfl,s i grew with them,they will do but nothing like hps.i just hated haveing a bunch of lights hanging,mind you i used t5,s with some 26 watters for side lighting,it was way to complicated and expencive,also my t5,s have already lost a lot of their briteness as well as my cfl,s.i find they dim out quick.but i would bet your 1000 watts of cfl are harder to cool then 1-1000.

It must be 1000w equivelent, I dont think anyone has the patients to actually go around hanging 1000w of cfl, that or it must be a large room.

Wow Gastanker, those are some INCREDIBLE cfl buds man. Heres a few I grew a while ago... In the first picture, the weed looked better in real life, the flash kind of ruined the quality. Anyways, CFL's in general, in my opinion, are not meant for mass producing bud. They are great for a personal stash but you definately won't be growing pounds unless you crank up the wattage to a rediculous amount (don't forget to use reflectors with those cfls!). 1000 watts of cfl's seems a stupid idea (parden my language) when you would grow more (and better) weed with an HID running even at 600 watts.

The last two pictures I post here was the most potent weed I've smoked in a long time... mmm mmmm

face it greenhouseseeds sucks every thing i have grown from them sucked it was a waste of time i think nirvana has better strains then greenhouse so far i have grown arjans ultra haze#2 alaskan ice and bigbang and ive grown nirvanas chrystal, ice, northernlights/shiva and northern lights/bigbud and every thing i grown from nirvana was 10 times better in taste smell and potentcy.but now i have moved on to better genetics now im growing lemon larry og kush,double dipped sour banana and ultimate sfv chem from elitegenetics and a couple of dna genetics strains and a couple of tga strains im going to find a couple of strains that i like and just stay with them for a while.so far from what ive grown i liked dna kushberry the best and as far as the worst strain i have grown was greenhouse seeds bigbang i have grown midgrade that was better than that

i think growing with cfls might be ok if growing a mostly indica or a short plant like dna sharksbreath but not growing any thing bred with a haze that might stretch or grow past 3 feet the the cfls dont cover but so much
