Electricity ate me out of house and home

I just got my electric bill. 800$. I am not ashamed to say I cried. But Jesus!

(4) 600 Hps
(2) 150watt T5 HID
Various fans and pumps

I run the lights at night, not only for heat controll but to regulate usage.

Anyone else get electric bills like this?

This was a flowering month too.

Do you run your household A/C? It's getting warmer here in the states and that could be a huge contributing factor. I would expect a $350-$400 bill with what you've got.

you have to remember your going to use more power during flowering vers veging under 24/0 or 18/6.every time that ballast fires up its using the most power at that time tell the ballast warmsup then it willnot use as much to keep the bulb lit. and at 12/12 the ballast is comeing on more times then veg times. do this just be4 your lights come on go out and watch your meter when the light come on that thing spins like hell, then after a few hours go out and look at it, it will have slowed down noticably, that cuz the ballsts have warmed up. just incase u did not no

Generally you use more power during flowering because you have more light during flowering.

There's no way in hell you are going to use more power running 12/12 then 24/0 all else being equal. the extra 12 hours of light offsets the spike quite substantially.

And 18/6 will definitely use more power than 12/12 because it shuts down and fires up the same number of times, just runs an extra 6 hours.

800 bucks man holey shit i got a one thousand watt ballest and its on 18/6 its the only thing i have on in the house other then my tiney 20 inch tv and laptop but i dont have anything esle on maybe the clock on the stove lol how bad do you think my bill will be

You've smoked too much of your own shit brotha.

They tested MH. There's no reason to believe the old MYTH you consider to be truth. You have definitely smoked too much if you believe that a light on 1/2 the time will use more electricity without ANY proof. That's like believing in God.
