dwc vs hempy buckets

what hydro method is more effective in growing big dank buds? what are the pros and cons of wach set-up? and how hard is it to create hempy buckets? does anyone have instructions on how to create these buckets??

Is a hempy bucket the same as a krusty bucket? I'm wanting to go krusty bucket with the big air pump and bucket in a bucket setup with the permeable plastic air stone type stuff.
I have 6 gallon buckets just waiting...Need more cash for the full setup. That stuff is expensive.

Search for the thread the hempy collective.

Hempy is passive hydro that gives you the dirt feeling. 100% perlite is what I did and some ppl mix in some vermiculate....I didnt and grew some dank shite :hump:

No air pumps, no nothing other than a bucket filled with perlite and a hole drilled 2" from the bottom.

Boneman, how was your yield compared to a soil grow with this method? what strain did you go with in the hempy buckets?? what is the most improtant thing to know when growing in hempy buckets??

I grew AK-47 and PPP in the hempy and I got...shoot I dont remember exactly but it was like 3 O'z each plant. The most important thing is to watch the rez and make sure it doesnt dry out.

BONEMAN, i just checked out your ak-47 and powerplant journal done with hempy buckets. im sold on them, i have had both of those strains before. Ak is as advertised you toke to much and it destroys you. i love powerplant, it was one of my first headies i ever tried about 10 years ago. i love that strain. I saw that you used spt and molassess, what veg nutes and flowering nutes did u use? did you use any flowering boosters? and you vegged for 6 weeks? did you do any training like fimming or topping? or suppercropping? you also just put the seed in the perlite? you didnt first start them in rapid rooters or something like that? what size buckets did you use? sorry for the repeative questions if you have already answered them . your grow has inspired me, the hempy grow method rocks

I used AN's Monkey Juice A&B...I did no LST or anything, they grew natural. I started the seed in a wet paper towel then once cracked it went into the p'lite just as we do with soil. I used a container from walmart with a lip at the bottom. Not sure of the size but it was close to 2gal.

hm i always thought dwc and hempy were close thanks for the info boneman, 3 ozs from 1 per....what light did u use? im sure a 1000

ahh okay thats makes a bit more sense haha i was wondering, i usually get like 2 or 3 if i do good under my 600 with only a few, im now doing SOG but id like to try these hempy buckets someday

Boneman, why did you use Monkey juice isn't that for coco coir?? do you think it would be ok if i used BMO nutes the full line? u used a 100% perlite also right?

I used the Monkey Juice because its what I had. I think the BMO line should be fine and I am going to use it for my next grow as well.

Yuppers...100% Perlite :hump:

Hempy buckets look great. So you make the cut 2inches from the bottom on one side? what size do you make the hole?? did you put a screen in ??
