the best cycle is 18/6 because i belive that a dark period is really important to the plant and then the plant can rest 4 a while.thats my opinion anyhow.
Given for veg, but what about flower?the best cycle is 18/6 because i belive that a dark period is really important to the plant and then the plant can rest 4 a while.thats my opinion anyhow.
the "best" cycle for you is 18/6 BUT may not be for anyone else. just simple opinions. I MY SELF like 20/4 because i can keep more compact plants which works out best for me. 18/6 i get to much vertical growth too quickly. 24/0 i was able to keep plants wide and bushy but under 2-foot tall.the best cycle is 18/6 because i belive that a dark period is really important to the plant and then the plant can rest 4 a while.thats my opinion anyhow.
plants dont NEED rest like humans do.. they can keep up photosynthesis as long as there is light present... its not rest that benefits them.. its the stretching that occurs from the dark cycle that, in the end, benefits your plants...the best cycle is 18/6 because i belive that a dark period is really important to the plant and then the plant can rest 4 a while.thats my opinion anyhow.
there is no "perfect" flower cycle... strains that are based closer to the equator have the ability to start flowering under 14/10 due to the fact they recieve less dark periods the further towards the equator you go.. in order for MJ to have a full life cycle she had to adapt, thus the ability to start to flower without 12/12... 12/12 is just the standard agreed on time by all growers that will DEF start flowering your girls... this way you dont have to figure out if 14/10 works.. or 13/11 works... 12/12 is just a way of garunteing that your plants will flower....Given for veg, but what about flower?
how can this be. if outdoors they rest and you have a bushy ass plant, i belive its all in the amount of light you have and the penatration that you get.plants dont NEED rest like humans do.. they can keep up photosynthesis as long as there is light present... its not rest that benefits them.. its the stretching that occurs from the dark cycle that, in the end, benefits your plants...

thats what i was sayin bro.. or was tryin to say... the streching allows for more penetration... and the more light that penetrates the better... and the more light present the better.. but i really wanted to stress the word NEED because they can grow with straight 24 hours lighting, but it is better if they are given dark to allow for the stretching which leads to better penetration...how can this be. if outdoors they rest and you have a bushy ass plant, i belive its all in the amount of light you have and the penatration that you get.
ya and im saying that the rest don't stretch the plant its the amount of light and the distance it is fromthe plant. allmy plants are on 18/6 bushy as hell just like my greenhouse that gets rest. now on relly shity overcast days that run for weeks will cause my girls to stretch a bit cuz there serching forthat sun. I've read Ed Rosenthal's writings but I think (I could be wrong) that he wants everyone in the world growing so he talks as if he's talking to a very beginner grower. I wonder what he would say about this.12/12 is the best for flowering. Jorge and Ed rosenthal both agree that you get diminished yeilds from the previously mentioned times. Also brick20 I think i read that you said you can see light going out of a vent but not in... I dont understand how that would work. Im guessing that the source of your light leak.
i dont think that should be a problem because the light that comes in the tent is not strong at all and i covered up all the zippers and any possible light leak areas12/12 is the best for flowering.
