is the advantage of this over regular dwc the water circulation?
The MAJOR advantage is the very rapid grow you get from having the feeder tubes, and the oxygen enriched nutrient water being pumped to each root base, 24/7. You have to experience it to believe it.
A DRIP system has to be on a timer, or you will drown the plant witht he constant flow. This is not a constant flow, but is a constant trickle of very bubbley water.

have you tried a side by side to see if moving the water is helpful? it seems to me like the water pump isn't necessary if the roots are in the water already.

  • The water pump is moving the water, cooling it and adding oxygen to it.
  • You can start seeds DIRECTLY in the cubes
  • You can add cuttings and they will root
  • EVEN after you get roots into the deep water, the feeder tubes encourage more rapid additonal growth
pick up hole saws for cutting the holes. I just got a hole saw kit with every size from 3/4" to 5" for $16. stick that on the end of my power drill and its makin holes til the battery dies.

sub any container with holes for a net pot. I was thinking about trying some of those green net baskets used for picking berries, but they seem a little too flimsy.

I have tried a 5 gallon bucket DWC with NO feeder tubes, and it was just much slower growing.

Bubbleponics™ is the art of delivering highly oxygenated nutrient solution DIRECTLY to the inner root zone. The days of merely misting the outer roots with nutrient spray are over. Gone too are the days of over/under watering, over/under feeding; the Stealth Hydro bubbleponic system automatically maintains the ideal oxygen level of the nutrient solution so as to facilitate a healthy thriving root system.

Freakin gangster I want one of those for the tent I just bought, where in wal mart did you find it?
Well I'm convinced that feeder tubes on top of the air pumps will be better and will probably give it a shot next grow.

in the aisle next to the LIGHTS, and FANS and Electrical stuff.

Hey would pouring a cup of water through the rw/hydroton netcup like once or twice a week be equivalent(ly) effective as having feeder tubes?

No, a DRIP system is set on a timer to feed them like once for 5 minutes, every hour, or for ten minutes, twice an hour, it varies. This system feeds them 24/7.

You can not compare 24/7 to even once a day.

Do you think it would be able to turn the bottom 6 1/2 inchs of a mini refridge into a bubbleponic's this would mean the basket would be 3 inchs or so and the well would only be 3 inchs or so....

any imput on this?

It just wouldn't be logical to do. Not big enough.

It is too too easy. Get the parts, and I will help you and I have a thread on how to do everything already here: My PICS

It just looks complicated, but it is not.

First off I would like to say  Roseman and all the other fellow members on this forum that really try to help the community. I was looking for the pics guide on https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/7897-stealth-hydro-bubbleponics-systems-623.html that you were referring to but either I must have misunderstood or am completely blind. I can't seem to find it.

Sorry Roseman, this is exactly why I try not to post while I am :eyesmoke:. I am not very savvy when it comes to building things. I guess what I wanted to ask was, I am very tempted to buy a Combo kit from SH. I think if you work out the math and time you would have to put it in making it yourself, it's a very tough price to beat (or at least I think it is) I know you have used both the Kits from SH and maybe your own self made kit, but how is the quality of those kits? I was reading on another post about some of the problems people had with the kits. Didn't take the time to read through the 600+ comments or so, but overall seems to be pretty positive.

Using mine for a fifth grow with no signs of problems. Haven't had anything go out on me. Upgraded a few things as I went along. You can certainly use the nutes provided and get a good crop. First one is always a learning experience. Learn first then buy all the toys you are sure to want after you start! There are so many people here that can help no matter what comes up. I wasn't very savvy on building things either but you might be surprised at what a little motivation can do. I was!

well in my opinion its much more of a learning experience to go out and build something from scratch then buy a kit. But if your just looking for something quick and easy and you don't live near a major metropolitan area the SH kit is a pretty good deal. I opted to build my own and upgraded a few things as well as my own nutes. I'm by no means a pro im just a newbie with an opinion :)

Yea, I see posts from disgrunted buyers, but for the most part, they did not read or follow the instructions. For example, Many do not rinse the hydroton rocks long enough, and the DUST messes up the submersive pump. Or they missed the words STARTER KIT.

I bought my first SH kit in 2006, and I still use it and both the air and water pump that came with it. The 4 inch round airstone that they sold back then did clog up AFTER two grows and I replaced it with a 12 inch long one. I have upgraded to a larger air pump and water pump too.
I now own 5 of the kits, that I often loan out for a share of the grow.
