Yep, a dumb ignorant liberal at that.I couldn't disagree with that statement more.
Should we learn nothing from our countries last depression? Hoover sat around and did absolutely nothing and it only fueled the economic downturn.
I'm more into learning from historical mistakes. I guess that makes me a dumb liberal.
Who's thinking backwards now?
Hoover expanded government power, and jacked up taxes (from 25% to 75%)
FDR, being the fascist bitch that he was jacked them up to 93%.
Trying to say that Hoover did nothing is an ignorant, stupid liberal talking point.
Now, if you can find mention of the last recession where the government did nothing, that'd be the 1920 - 1921 recession where the government's response was to lower taxes. The boom that ensued is remembered in history as the roaring 20s.
Not to neglect Kennedy's lowering taxes during the slump of the 60s that lead to a decade of economic expansion, and was capped by the landing of Americans on Lunar Soil.
Or Reagan's further lowering of taxes that set the stage for nearly two decades of expansion.
But all booms go bust, because malinvestment happens. People make mistakes, because no one (especially not bureaucrats and politicians) are omniscient.
History shows Socialism to be a failure, and it also shows that you are ignorant of history. Must be the public "education" system at work.
