SS420's new hydro grow - Blueberry, White Shark, ChemDog, OG kush

Nice pics bud. I love how compact the flouros make your plants. The blueberrys are fattening out. I'm taking clones of my blueberry today....just topping them...I need to get enough stock built up for this up coming crop.

What do you think plant numbers should be for a single 1000w. I was going to go with 15. In the link I posted from gypsy....he had 80 something single tops under a 600. I was curious on your opinion.

the floros are a life saver indeed.. it makes it nice... i mean 20 nodes right now on the white shark and its just about a foot tall.. there is almost NO spacing between nodes.. the figure in the super cropping or topping.. its just great... super short compact bushes ready to flower... im glad they are staying as short as they are but still bushing out a lot... i dont want them to tower to much over the little ones.. dont want them to start stretching for the lights at all..

how many BB clones are you taking?? does BB clone pretty easy?? what really blows is i am going to have to wait until mid flowering to take clones... gotta take them about a week before harvest so they have time to revert and root and be ready when they girls come down to start over again.. hopefully this will be the solo crop and i can get going on my perpetual grow.. just the equipment to purchase and thats it...

as far as how many i would say under a 1000w... assuming you start to flower at 1 ft... and they end up around 2 1/2 to 3 ft i would say somewhere in the 10 to 15 neighborhood... more if they are sativa/sativa dominant and less if they are indica/indica dominant.. this would give them plenty of space for mulitple toppings or S.C's.. whichever you prefer... but you are right on with your thinking bro//

thats a good thing as long as the light penatrates threw the plant,and i thing you are doing that just fine.. doing the roof on the green house right now..its going to be 12 ft taperd down to10 ft.im going to top the 2 tallest plants again 2day..

Damn....I have alot to shoot for....Im pretty far behind that. I also know nothing about my plant strain....I think it is a little plant by genetics after watching the new clones I picked up. They have grown 2x as fast.

How long do you veg for indoor....heighth wise?

its hard to say how long i veg.. its usually, up until this grow, been in the 4/5 week range... but the large ones will have almost 8 weeks of veg or more when i start flowering since i have to let the little ones catch up... and once i get my perpetual going, they will have a soild 7/8 weeks of veg all the time... but, if you are asking about height wise, it usually ends up around 18" when i would flower... but now.. hell.. like i said.. i have no idea what to expect...

damn.. thanks for all the info and help. i think im gunna go with hydro, i like that its quicker and better quality buds. you say its harder to learn and more "homework" do you know of any books or websites that go in depth with each cyce and ph levels and all of that stuff that i would need to know? like i said thanks alot for helpin me out!

http://www.greenmanspage.com/guides/ this is a link to an amazing site with a TON of info... it is a little harder to learn and set up hydro.. things have to be a lot more exact and precise.. with a lot less room for error... BUT since there is a lot stricter rules, in a way, it makes it more easy.. its just getting everything down to where it needs to be... then its smooth sailing... but the buds will be larger and the plants will grow quicker for sure..

damn these plants jus look bomb.. im really new to this whole "growing thing".. these plants look like they will yield a shit load. im guessing thats super cropping them? could you explain that a little? how much would you say these plants would yield after harvest and dried? those still got some time to grow, and there already lookin big.. and so thick, cant wait to see what those look like with some nice buds on em.. not trying to bug you too bad man, i know youve got other people to reply to and shit.. im just super interested in this shit.. i live in Michigan and with the new medical marijuana laws, im trying to get my shit started here within the 6 months.. and i still have a lot of homework and shit i got to learn.. thanks alot man.. i jus joined this yesterday not knowing there was anything like this out there on the net.. like it alot. if you know of any websites or books out there that educate about everything you need to know about hydroponics and aeroponics please let me know! like i said b4 thanks alot!

super cropping and FIM'ing are all the i have done.. both end up doing the same thing.. it forces all the branches below where you did it at to grow upwards.. FIM'in is done at the top of the plant, while super cropping is done anywhere..

when you FIM, you are basically "topping" the plant.. at the very top of the plant, where the new growth is coming from, you will feel a bud.. its not a nug type bud.. but a new growth bud.. its the point of origin for all new growth... in order to FIM, all you do is to cut or pinch off about 3/4 of that new growth bud.. you may have to pull back some leaves to do it.. but thats all it is... this will make all the lower branches start growing upwards instead of outwards... which means more foliage closer to the light.. which means more bud sites and more buds in the end...

super cropping is just as easy.. in order to super crop you pick a spot on the main stem... its best to do just under a node (branch site)... you gently squeeze the stem between your pointer and thumb, until you feel it give... then turn your hand 90 degrees and do it again... this should weaken the stem enough that it lays over on its side... what this does is makes anything below that point start pushing out and up towards the light as well.. it can also force new shoots to grow below that mark... as the plant gets taller you can super crop not just the main stem, but any of the side branches that you want to as well.. the more you do the more shoots and growth you will get..

both of these techniques are fairly low stress to the plant, with very quick recovery times.. in all honesty i dont think either has made any of my girls miss a beat.. they just keep on growing... they both work by tricking the plant into thinking there is no top to it and that it needs to start reaching for light.. both work well.. i would suggest trying to super crop first, and if the plant reacts poorly, try to FIM it next... both are VERY forgiving, and, as long as you dont sever the main stem when you super crop, both are very easy for the plant to recover from if it doesnt like it...

if i had to guess yield.. which is almost impossible to do.. i would say about 3 to 4 ounces each dry... they do still have a while to veg tho.. i have 4 clones im waiting to get rooted, and 3 sprouts that need to catch up.. so im guessing another 4 weeks of veg at least.. really tho.. i have NO idea what to expect right now..

I topped a blueberry, PCT, and a grunk. Their going to become clone moms. The BB cloned very easily...I kept growing while it was rooting...took about a week or so.

i super cropped the fuck out of the og kush last night.. at least 10 or 12 tops... she doesnt mind it at all.. she just keeps on growing up and getting thicker and thicker... it makes my little heart sing... LOL i need to figure out what im going to do with the white shark... i super cropped her about a week ago.. and although she is fine and didnt stop growing at all, when i super cropped it, from the stem being so thick, i actually split it.. even now i can see right through the stem.. its sick... but shes completely fine.. it was a vertical break, which is probably what saved me... but it was not pretty at all... i was sure i was going to lose the top above that line..

i just need to figure out what the hell im going to do to her next.. had to raise the lights above her today.. which means the lights above 2 of the blue berries go up since they are all on the same light raising system i rigged... its only by a couple inches.. and the lights still only like 6 or 7 inches from the tops.. but i dont want the stretch...

got a question i need a few opinions on.. how many tops can you FIM at any 1 time?? or rather, how many would you feel comfortable doing at once?? heres the thing.. the BB that have a ton of tops have a lot of lower branches that only are those tops or just a few nodes... so i want to super crop them so itll force some more lower plant growth to grow and push up... but the first one didnt respond well so im thinking it wouldnt be the best thing to go to town on them... so i was going to FIM the shit out of them.. maybe... just need some ideas/opinions on the best course of action...

and speaking of clones the og kush clones i took like 2/3 days ago are showing roots through the bottom of the cubes already... i was happy to see that.. and i went ahead and threw the 2 sprouts that i am not sure will make it or not back into the hydro system... so the new plan is to let these og get a little more rooted over the next day or 2, throw them into their sites... wait and see if the white shark clones root or if the seedlings make it in the system and start growing and go with whatever one happens first... start flowering in about 4 weeks or so... so harvest time in early novemeber... right before christmas at least bongsmile oh shit i get to buy myself a 4000w flower room for christmas this year

so new plan is this.. im praying that the 2 sprouts take.. i'll know in about a day or two whether or not that will or wont... i REALLY hope they do.. then i can plant all 4 of the clones i took since after i remove these 2 BBs ill have 4 sites open... but maybe im just stressing and they arent what i think they are and my mind is playing tricks on me....

yeah im really happy with how fast they have rooted.. im going to give them a few more days before i put them in their sites just to let the root mass form a little more.. but i was really surprised by it...

i love the way the knot at the bend gets so thick... it really does increase the strength of the stems a lot.. its really gonna help hold up the buds when i start flowering... kush strains are really good and im happy to have some in my grow this time.. i didnt hear about that AN line tho.. thats cool.. i wonder what makes it so "kush special"...

so the 4000w grow will actually just be the flowering room.. and ill have the current setup as my veg room... thats the only thing i have left to do.. i need all the equipment all over again on the other side of the wall in my grow room for the flowering side... oh yeah... 2600w veg/clone with a 4000w flower... should be sick.. and coming to a theater near you in winter of 09 beginning of 10... so the floros wont be wasted

just a quick update.. today was res change day... got that done and taken care of... everything went smoothly and easily.. i'm getting my routine down to a science..

still cant tell if those BB are males or not... in a couple places where they are starting to get bigger they are somewhere between looking like female preflowers pushing out.. but in a couple spots it looks likes pollen sacs.. my eyes are shitty so i cant focus enough yet.. ill wait a couple more days and take some more pics and post and see what you all think... maybe by then i wont need confirmation...

i did get female confirmation for the white shark!! yep saw her beautiful preflowers... im stoked... so it looks like the white shark clones are good to go as soon as they are rooted and ready to go... i also super cropped her a few more times.. snapped a couple branches that were smaller... so i may have super cropped and topped her in a couple places.. LOL but she should be fine... its amazing how thick her branches are.. she's gonna yield very very nicely...

one of the og clones are looking a little weak.... the other looks good... gonna give them another 2 or 3 days to root a little more and then get them in some sites..

the tundra and the super lemon haze sprouts are taking and are happy.. thankfully... so thats 2 less sites i have to worry about... and watching the other plants grow i have hope they wont take long to catch up...

the strawberry cough, bluehash, and gigabud are looking great and are growing amazingly quick... very lush and fast growing foliage...

ive said it a few times and will say it again this ebb and gro system is great... ive been able to move the plants around to different sites as ive needed and have been able to keep the canopy even... all the lights are within inches of the canopy... if i hadnt been able to move the plants due to the 2 bucket system it uses i would have been fucked... the worst part is changing out the res.. but thats only because i cant move it from where i have it... after this harvest i will change the tubing between all the pots out so ill move things aroung a little to make it easier for me.... but even now it only takes an hour from start to finish.. and i know how happy the girls are when its done so its worth it..

i started 2 more super lemon haze seeds today... fuck it.. they white shark and 1 og kush can take the place of the bb.. im not pulling the bb's quite yet.. i want to really make sure... they are still close to maybe being females.. but im quickly losing hope... even if they are hermies i am going to pull them.. i dont want to deal with any seeds... ill just have to give the og kush and white sharks plenty of growth room since they are so big... ill stick the clones in the middle row under the hps.. ill move the og kush to the middle row under an hps... put the og kush and a white shark clone on the outside 2 sites under the hps's.. and stick the last white shark and the 2 new sprouts under the floros... so this is another set up.. but not one that was my fault.. but that just means that the og and white shark i have going now are going to yield huge for me.. and ill still have plenty of super cropping time and FIM time with the other plants... so im not worried.. just focusing on the future.. ill give the bb enough time to show for sure before i pull them.. but if they dont show me they are female before i need the sites then they are gone... sorry TM...

so here is a couple pics of the room as it looks right now... the left row has the blue haze, strawberry cough, and giga bud in the back three rows... theres an open site in the front that will get either the super lemon haze of tundra sprout i have started.. which ever seems to respond quickest.. the light on that row is much closer so i want to make sure that the plant is strong enough to deal with the intense light.. and also that spot seems to be a warmer spot in the room so i want to make sure i dont fry another sprout from heat...

the middle row is 2 blue berries and and the white shark.. the very back site is empty but will have a clone as soon as they are ready to be transplanted...

the right row has a blue berry, the tundra and SLH sprouts that are just starting to grow, and the back is the og kush.. its just starting to correct herself from her last super crop.. im doing really well at keeping everything even.. and i need to keep the larger plants as short as possible so the other plants can catch up and my lights can stay as even as possible going into flowering...


also there are a couple more pics of the blueberries i took earlier.. i can blow them up on my tv screen but i still dont want to believe it..


i raised the lights up in the second pic.. otherwise you can see the distance they are from the plants canopys in the first pics.. normally i would have them closer, but due to the way my lights are rigged i am unable to control the distance raised in as small of increments as i want.. so the lights arent always as close as i want them to be.. but i do plan on modifying things so i can raise the lights in shorter increments..
