Beer is a growers friend... in more ways than one

Never thought I'd see the day when people would pour beer on their plants. Damn

Also the only beer that is totally organic is a certified organic beer. Plenty exist, but most beer is not organic because the ingredients are not organic. I'm sure the strict organic folks know this already.

it works.

soil only of course.

okay, carbs that are easily abosorbed by the plant and used.
carbonation that releases CO2 also nourishing the plant.

i can attest to this. it perks them right up !

I definitely won't be trying this. Has anyone used ashes from remains of loved ones to they're mediums? Sounds just as retarded.

303... Yes, I grew some beautiful plants with the ashes of a missing ex-wife.... Opps....did I really type that...... Now, I know I'm Super Stoned.... (now, I hope you don't really believe that).......
.
Beer has micro-nutes.....simple carbs......and will not harm your plants in moderation...(one 16 oz beer per gallon of soil, per week).... Some plants are heavy drinkers and can take more.......(believe this)......
.
Keep it Real...Organic......

I keep an organic tea culture going at all times to feed my hempies. Looks like I'll be adding some new micro beasties next time I feed my tea.

I'll share my results... if I remember. Just watered so it'll probably be a week before I water again and notice a change.

If all goes well I think a +rep will be in order. ;)

The ph of local water is about 8 in the area in which I would like to attempt a garden.

I read the ph of most beer is about 4....would a tablespoon or so added to a gallon of this water correct the level?

I have no idea if that would work man and besides why use beer to balance your Ph you can use bakingsoda if you really wanted to but monitor that because Im sure you know that bakcin soda is a strong base. not to mention cheaper. I was also going to recomend to you that if you insist on beer then the cheapest way to aquire beer is home brew. When your in the primary fermentation the beer will give off alot of Co2 which is great for the plant. so keep your Primary fermenter next to your plant.

cheers dude!

The beer seems to be nutritional from what has been stated in various places. I guess the only way to know is try a mixture. A single large bottle of ale is not an issue to use in a garden if a tablespoon will correct ph while acting as a positive soil amendment.

Baking soda has alot of salt so be carefull with using it you may need to flush if your using it to change the ph. Plus baking soda will raise the ph of the water not lower it wich is what he is trying to do. Lemon juice on the other hand will lower it.

When paperwhite bulbs are grown in a dilute solution of alcohol, the plants reach a height of 1/3 to ½ their normally expected growth - but the flowers remain normal size and last just as long. Why they thought of giving their paperwhites a nip, I don’t know. But it appears that the resulting water stress on the plants is just enough to stunt their growth, but not interfere otherwise. .
Not sure how this effects other plants. I was putting yeast in my tea along with a little molasses and my usual leftover coffee and grounds. Throw in some nitrogen and it starts bubbling. They did well with in early veg. Without having a control plant I wasn't sure what the effect was and was worried about screwing up this years outdoor crop. This sounds encouraging however.
