Yes, it is a DWC with an added submersive under water pump, an Irrigation Hub or Manifold and feeder tubes, pumping oxygen enriched and nutrient enriched water to each cup.

hey guys,

I'm tight on cash and was wondering what I'd be better investing in

1) a submersible pump + irrigation hub so I can turn my 10 gallon tote into a true bubbleponics system
2) a new air pump (mine is only 2 gallons / min)

I have a few other general qs too if someone wouldn't mind answering them,

Am I right in thinking that it's the size of the pump, not the air stones that determine amount of bubbles?

Am I also right in assuming that you shouldn't add ph up or down directly to the rez, but to water in a bucket beforehand?

And finally, if I wish to add nutes to my 8 gallon rez to raise the ppm to say 100, would I just add 800ppm of nutes to a bucket of water then add that to the rez?

That's OK.

Correct!

When you reach the flower stage you can remove the feeder line, distributor and hose leading to the pump out but most have found that leaving the pump itself in for the flower stage halep with water movement and water cooling.

First, when you say 120w do you mean 120watt equivalent light or that each light takes 120w of power to run. You will need to change 4 of those lights to 2700k when you switch to flower. Different light requirement for those two stages of grow. Again, at this stage ( veg) you should also have the lights on 24/7 and I never have my pump on a timer. On the burning, put your hand at the top of the plant and hold it there for 1 minute. If your hand is comfortable, you plants will not burn. Go get 'em!

120w equivalent, thanks for the response, I am excited to start growing with the bubble set-up this should end my losing streak.

Hey Roseman. I'm starting my bubbleponics system and I have a few questions.

1. I have an 18 gallon tote, is that too big and if not, how many gallons of water should I be using?

2. Do I need the water to drip steadily ( with a drip attachment on the end, going into the pot ) Or is it not supposed to have a drip attatchment, and just flow from the tubing?

The bigger the tote, the more you have to empty and fill, and the more money your going to spend on nutrients. The dimensions were very well thought out for what you can grow in them.

And no drip connector is needed, just put it through the side of the netpot and butt it into the side of the cube. A constant trickle is all you need as long as you have an aerating irrigation manifold.

Awesome, thanks man. So how many plants can I grow under a 250 HPS, and in a 8 gal. tote?

I have a 250 and depending on strain I'd say 4 was the limit. Gets awfully root crowded in the tank after that. I say depending on the strain because some like to grow up with a signle cola and some like to grow wide with heavy branching. The strain I have right now braches like a mofo and 2 have filled my 3x4 grow area. I have to crouch down to see the top of the tank. If you are using regular seeds then I would plant 6 because you are going to get 3 females out of that on average. The males you cut out when found out. If you are using fem seeds then I would do 4. One in each corner.

roseman...do you put your clones directly into rockwool and in the big container with the new setup or do you root them somewhere else......those are some nice root masses though.....im looking to buid an aero cloner....but im likeing the homedepot aero/drip/bubble setup you built....
