lolollipoping my big bud plants **<<PICS>>**

so as you may have heard iv got 8 bb ladies that iv just started to flower indoors under 2 600w hps lights. iv had them vegging outside for about 10weeks now so theyre kind of huge.
when i first brought them in i instantly knew that i didnt have much headroom coz of the lights,... had several options; LST, scrog them, or just hope they didnt get too high...
but realistically speaking something had to be done.... so...
i tied all the branches so they were slightly more vertical than usual sort of holding the up slightly, which will be good in future coz they wont snap due to the bud weight. i then did away with the 3 lower nodes of all the plants which will allow better airflow and concentrate bud production at the top instead of making shitty popcorn bud. and finally i also huddled them closer together and placed the lights on either side of the room so now the plants will be able to grow til the ceiling with no problems :D

tell me what you think!

thanx man, iv trimmed most of the fan leaves on the primary nodes except at the top, light seems to penetrate through to the bud sites much more easily now...
this has turned into a sort of experiment now...
hope this turns out well

I usually don't like to prune the fan leaves, but you still have a hug amount of vegetation there.

I do tie the branches up, just by running a piece of string all the way around the plant like a tomato cage (sort of).

Are these in 12/12 now?

You have a grow journal?

yeh theres still a lot of vegetation left, the fan leaves on all the secondary nodes are quite big and iv hardly trimmed any of them,
dont have a grow journal sorry bout that but yeh theyre in 12/12 now, have been since i brought them inside which was about 3 days ago,
they were showing tiny pistils about 2 weeks ago when i still had them in veg outside which was quite cool,
cant wait to see them flower properly

im gonna try the same thing! its quality over quantity! im thinking about lollipoping AND supercropping! try and get the best of both worlds, still doing research though! Keep up the good work!

I'm sure your plant will be fine, and you can refine you trimming as you go. Some do, some don't. Lolipopping and trimming the lower or middle branches is a preference by some growers and a taboo by others. I tried it this time round, and got what you see below. She's very much in a phattening mode still .... I've seen some examples where there are 7-8 "main" colas ..... pretty friggin impressive what these plants can do .... good luck and walk on!!~~

Sure you can. Just remember when you trim the lower branches and bud site to leave the fan leaves. And it is smart to have some stakes handy or a way to tie them up!:hump: When you do 2 or 4 the branches are already growing at an angle so the weight can get to be a bit much. Even single lollis grown straight up need support. 3 out of the 4 in the above pic are tied back. And one is still wanting to fall over. And they have some really strong trunks.

ok so say i top to get 2 main colas and i want to lollipop to have 2 huge main colas and lets say 2 other good sized colas from lower branches and everything else get cuts, is this still lollipoping and would that be better then just having 2 enourmous main colas and nothing else or what, when it comes to topping and lollipoping a plant what do you recomend doing for max yeild
