Thats good info. I do know that H&G says not to mix Top Booster and Shooting Powder. I may have had some left after draining the res.

Hello Everyone. Great thread. I forgot where I heard this but I read that introducing drip clean in the middle of the harvest is bad news and some how messes up your plants. Anyone else read this or have any knoledge. I have a bottle I wish to use but not sure just yet. Should I just call HG. Good feed back would be greatly appriciated.

I am doing my first crop and the guy at the local hydro shop recommended H&G so I'm starting with it. I'm using the Aqua Flakes, Algen Extract, and the Roots Excelurator. Ironically I walked into the store asking for Canna (based on Al. B. Fuct's recommendation) so this thread is very interesting to me. I'm starting out so it may be awhile before I have any useful input but I will keeping a close eye on the thread. I will say that I planted some clones in 4x4x4 rockwool and 3 days later roots were already coming out the bottom. So far so good i guess.

Wow, thanks for that link! I've been meaning to sit down and do the math. Has anyone done an EC chart for Aquaflakes using RO water?

lol, serious question?

iono

we'll see if the gets the job done. tired of mothers eating up nutes. i plan to nute once every month and foilar feed them Magic Green every other week

i let them get pale to yellow a little bit and they've only had RO water the other day....so i hit them with with to see how fast they will green back up.

So I added water to the res, added Aqua Flakes A, mixed, waited 30 mins, added Aqua Flakes B, mixed, waited 30 mins, tested ph, corrected to 5.8, mixed, waited 30 mins, tested ph again, still at 5.8, and then added Algen extract and Roots Excleratur, i tested ph again and it went up to 6.2???? The instructions say "pH may lower after adding stimulants, this a a natural process due to the live microbial nature of the stimulant and will correct itself within a few hours." Ok, but the ph didn't drop it rose. has anyone else experienced this?

Also, does anyone know the NPK of Aqua Flakes?

I have had the same exact problem with Aquaflakes A&B. I have also found that the PH wants to settle around 6.3. I have been able to pull it back to 5.8 but need to do this 1-2x a day. I am running a flood and drain with rockwool cubes. This last res change I added Nitrozime (after a,b, and algen) which is typically on the acidic side. This seems to help with the PH (not to mention a great nute).

Next res change I am going to correct my A&B mixture to a 5.5 and see if that helps with the overall ph, along with correcting each day.

I do have a question. I am running RO water which has a PPM of near 0. After I add all the nutes for early veg (5.5/gal of A&B) I am reaching a PPM of 770. Should it be higher??? Obviously it will go up once I add more AB in later weeks.

Is there a chart for the PPM through a 12 week cycle?

My water is averages around 300 ppm from the tap and after adding the recommended amounts for week 3 of a tall veg crop (see attachment 1) it comes out to be about 1080 ppm. That means i've got about 780 ppm of nutes in my mix. That's really close to what you have so I would say that's about right.

By 12 week cycle do you mean 12 week total cycle (4 week veg and 8 week flower) or 12 week flower cycle?

I don't know if there is a ppm chart (if you find one let me know). I have attached a copy of the liquid amounts for the 12 week cycle in case it's helpful (see attachment 2).

Do any of the products contain potassium silicate?? I've seen some threads where large amounts of that ended up being the culprit..

The roots exceleratur has potassium hydroxide but none of the other labels say potassium silicate for the ingredients. The Algen extract just says derived from Norwegian Sea Kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum).

I mixed a new batch of nutes yesterday (see journal for details: https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/232930-first-grow-3000w-ebb-gro-6.html )

I adjusted the pH to 5.7 and 18 hours later the pH had risen to 6.9. WTF? Anyone else have this happen?

I was thinking of adding some 40% H2O2 but will that adversely affect the nutes?

sorry i just seen this.

no i have never had that happen. my pH is stable as fuck...so stable i barely even check it anymore.

also DO NOT use h2o2 in your res with H&G

you WILL be spending more money (h2o2) to waste the money you already spent (your h&g nutes and additives)

roots excellator IS your h2o2. just way better and way more gentle

your problem is your tap water.

H&G feed charts are based on RO water, preferably 000ppms

you should always run 1/2 strength if you are using tap water. especially 300ppms worth. IMHO

i dislike rockwool. reason being is that rockwool can fluctuate pH and the EC WILDLY!!!!

also mixing of other nutes arent recommended. It is better to stick with just their additives. Trust me on this. I've stopped using any additives since i've switched to House & Garden....

no sm90, no hydroguard, no superthrive, no canna rhizotonic, none of that extra shit...roots excellator does all of those functions all in one bottle...with the advantage of using a lower dosage rate.

i havent found a need for any cal/mag. nothing at all!

ditch the nitrozyme and stick with the multizyme/zen. i dont even use my canna cannazym anymore...just multizym/zen and house and garden stuff

but that is just IMHO
