Where is the Anti-War Movement in the Age of Obama?

Since 1980 the proportion of the world's population living in poverty has been cut in half. The proportion of the world living under some degree of democracy has doubled. Access to education, especially for girls has tripled. These are remarkable accomplishments and they are all due to globalization, which means nothing more than more and more of the world coming into the connected world and escaping the dark ages and thugocracies of the disconnected world.

It is at the borders of that disconnected world that almost all the violence and terrorism takes place. Those regions have been called the frontiers of integration and the task of pushing them back further and further, and bringing connectivity to the whole world is something anyone who is really for peace and human rights should applaud. That is what we are engaged in both in Iraq and Afghanistan and the flow of history is on our side.

Already the idea of state on state war is obsolete, what you are calling war is action to dislodge the thugs followed by nation building. Those who wave some vague anti-war banner seldom know what they are talking about - literally. If they were to hold sway, and they won't, we would be in grave danger of sliding backwards to where half the world will live in tyranny and utter hopelessness. Anything that promotes and accelerates the historic unfolding of globalization is pro-human, pro-peace and truly anti-war rather than the sophomoric, weekend hippie anti-war I'm reading about here.

You can call killing the opposition "nation building", but basically county who claims sovereign boarders will be taken under the banner of global government (the U.S. and European led new world order) by force.

That is what drives me so nuts.
The people who ran around bitching and moaning about how evil and bad Bush was (which he certainly was) for starting wars are now happy as hell with their little warmonger, Obama.
But as long as they keep hearing 'change' and 'hope' in their heads, they will not question anything, and that is what really pisses me off.

Like 2 days into his administration he bombs Pakistan, and all his Obamanoids couldn't contain their glee with him in the white house.

The funny thing is that Obama said he was going to do this when he was campaigning. I remember one day before one of the classes I taught, my students and I got on the subject of politics and this one girl asked me if I was voting for Obama. I said something to the effect of, "hell no. If you like war, go ahead and vote for Obama." This girl couldn't believe what I said. She said that Obama was not pro war. So I sent her a clip of Obama saying that he was going to attack Pakistan if he got elected.
Here's the point:
Even though I sent her a video of him saying he was going to attack them, she still didn't believe it. She said something to the effect of, "It was a Ron Paul website."

Total Orwellian doublethink.

Now let's be clear. The only sentiment that really counts is that of the Iraqis. The Iraqis are overwhelmingly joyful that someone finally stepped in and got rid of their oppressor. The reelection of the US backed govt. is a clear sign of that approval.
I believe the happiest day in Iraq for Iraqis was the day we turned it over to their military, the most supreme happy day will be the day when we leave. They didn't like Sadam, that's a fact, but they like us even less. We have so far killed or maimed well over 1 million Iraqis, and left them with the gift that keeps on giving, depleted uranium munitions that lie all over the country making the dust that blows a very toxic brew. There will be cancer like never seen in that country for millennia.
As for us 'liberals' loving Obama for his stance on war, forget that. He has and continues to dissapoint me in his war policies. In fact, I'm pretty pissed off at Obama right now, the only reason I'd vote for him again is to keep a republican from getting in. He has changed positions on almost everything he stood for pre-election. Now he is giving up the public option in a sellout to the insurance industry. Fuck Obama.
Oh and BTW, the reason the US led government is getting re-elected, you guessed it, the money. Just like the good old USA, money buys government.
