Even Dutch Passion couldn't fuck up White Widow. ;) (I've had 3 of 4 strains hermie from DP)

I bought Seedsman because I wanted a sativa pheno, I'm just veging it now. I can't wait to hear everyone's opinion and what the high/stone is like for each breeder.

I have to suffice my post after reading Raiderman's, it's only DP's fem seeds that I've had trouble with, everything I've read about their regular seeds says they're top shelf.

And Panta is right too, Black Widow is one I want to grow. We hear nothing but good stuff about Mr Nice's beans.

dp has been around a bit. i been using them 9 yrs as a choice high quality genetic line..thier strains are very stable and top of the line like dj short in much equal.thier white widow is easy to grow, has that stron hashish smell of nepaline temple hash which is the sweet expanding quality. i am reordering more for christmas harvest nex month.gonna get 3 pacs and get 15 females.you'll get 5 girls a pac ,and every seed will germ,i get 100% germ rate off all dp seeds,i do thier bluemoonshine which is thier master piece, but i'd put thier white widow nex,,thier blueberry is jus toooo difficult to gro and hermies even as reg seedds, but thats bb.hope this answered yur q.

Raiderman I have a Blue Moonshine feminized seed that I've been reluctant to germ because I thought it might hermie easy being from the blue family. Has the BM you've been growing been from feminized seeds? If (so or not) have you had any hermie problems? Any special way to grow - less ferts, does it like to be sung too?

I figured that I'd have to buy a pack of regular seeds from DJ Short, but if it's DP's masterpiece then I'm germing this seed.

thanks for any info you can give me on Blue Moonshine.

(sorry for hijacking the thread Panta, I've been dying to grow Blue Moonshine.)

I agree BM is top shelf (blue) from the white family - white widow

I grew out 6 with no hermies

All the plants were pretty uniform

Plan on 10 weeks to finish properly

"BM is top shelf (blue) from the white family - white widow"

That always confused me from their ad - I never knew if it was from the White family but is blue, which seems kind of weird; or is from the Blue family and is compared to the resin production of white widow. Maybe simple but it confused me, thanks for clearing it up.

Does anyone know why it's from the White family if it has blue leaves? What makes a strain from the White family? (White Widow as a parent no doubt - smacks self upside head)

"I grew out 6 with no hermies"

Where they feminized or regular seeds? (I'm assuming fem since you grew them all out)

Thanks for the help!

They were feminized, 5 seeds. One seed looked cracked, but I guess it was 2 fused together, because as it turned out it was twins. I separated them in the 1st week, and they both grew out normally.

It is odd that JD Short says these are from the white family (white widow/rhino) but they smell like blue berry syrup :weed:

I wonder if Blue Moonshine is as simple as (White Widow) x (Blueberry).

The genetics aren't listed, but: "A super potent blueberry Indica" but we're confused by "The "Blue" version of the "White" family (White Widow, etc)", then we're further confused with "body high blueberry". Clear as mud.

.

I had two twins in a couple of Subcool beans, freaky. For my twins only one of each set is growing normally, the twin in each set is a runt.

For some reason DP Blue Moonshine Fem keeps giving me problems... last time I grew it I veged it for a few weeks in a 1 gallon grow bag and it stretched to almost 4 ft during flower and never packed on any triches... just a waste of space. I had tried it once before and that one never packed on triches either. Huge dense buds with no resin wtf? (all the other plants I grow certainly do) so I was bummed.. This is out of 2 seperate packs of BM fem . Now I have three going and they are by far smaller than all other strains sowed at same time.... Maybe Ill try the BM regular next time... I just dont get it.... I want to succeed with the BM sooo bad and I have such excellent results with everything else... why not this?

I was always led to believe that original WW came from GreenHouse genetics. I think GreenHouse make these bold claims a lot though, so I try not to put much stock in to their claims. It's a shame if they were the first seedbank to come out with it though, seeing as they only sell fem seeds now.

" was always led to believe that original WW came from GreenHouse genetics."

It did and it didn't.

As legend goes: Mr Nice (Shabatatawhatever) was working for Arjan at Greenhouse, breed White Widow - which legally is Greenhouse's intellectual property if done during work time or with GH supplies in their facility after hours - then left GH and put out his own version of WW - Black Widow, which is actually white - and says that it has the original genetics of his first WW.

Legend and fact are different and the legend above is incorrect.

Shantibaba and another breeder whose name eludes me at the moment were partners with Arjan, not employees or just working with Arjan, in the original Green House Seed Company.

The original White Widow came from Shantibaba’s genetics. Ego ovecame Arjan after White Widow became famous and the three spilt up with Shantibaba and the other partner selling their portions of Green House Seeds and Shantibaba took his genetics with him, including the original White Widow that he then renamed Black Widow and he opened up Mr. Nice Seeds, named for one partner Howard Marks, known as Mr. Nice … Shantibaba is not and never has been Mr. Nice. Howard Marks is the one and only Mr. Nice.

What Green House Seeds sells as the cup winning White Widow is a knockoff, it is Arjan’s version of White Widow made from different genetics than the original created by Shantibaba, just as is Seedsman Seeds White Widow and all the rest are knockoff versions.

If you want the original White Widow genetics you need to purchase Mr. Nice Seeds Black Widow seeds, and they are regular seeds, not feminized seeds.

I have a question maybe some of you can answer:
I just got some WW from World of Seeds - Seed Center. i started 2, and they cracked after 2 days, then when i put them in rockwool, they sprouted OK, but then after 2 days - they just fell over & died! Any ideas why that happened?

i didn't put them under light right away till they were an inch or so - then 2 days later - BAM - dead???
