I use an easy cloner now which just absolutely rocks. But before I had that I did it this way. Get some 1.5x1.5 rock wool cubes. soak the cubes in 300 ppm bloom to adjust the pH. Drain your cubes for a few hrs. Take a tip that is about 1/3 the thickness of a pencil and clip it about 3/4' below where you want the end of the cutting to be. Take a razor or scalpel and cut the stem at a sever angle at least 45 degrees. Do this with the bottom of the clipping under water to avoid trapping air in the stem. The shallower the angle of the cut the better. you want to expose the Xylem and Phloem inside the stem. This is how the plant trans relocates the nutrients to build roots. Take the clipping strait out of the water and dip it in Clonex or Olivia's cloning gel. Gently place it in the rock wool cube and place in a humidity dome. I use two tray inside each other. One with holes and one with out. I keep a solution of 300 ppm grow and 1/2 tsp of KLN rooting hormone per gallon. Dip the tray with holes and your cuttings in it for about 5 min 2 times a day. just lift the tray out and set it on top of the other one at an angle to drain. Make sure to cut a couple of vents in the top of your humidity dome as your plants do need air. when roots poke out the bottom your good to go. I can get 95%+ survival rate this way. Good luck.
