PLANNIN ON BUYING MH or HPS lights.

went to an electrical hardware store and they were selling a MH 400 watts for 183.12 .. and the HPS were a lil more around 200. the MH are WHITE... while the HPS are a lil bit yellowish or orange. im in the vegs moment. so which one should i choose? is there something i should look for? should the bulb have a temperature rating? does it matter if it's a flood system or garden system?

does it matter about the temperature? 5000-6500k ? i was told they give out like a yellowish or orangish light. that sound like they are for flowering

Scratch that.^^

buy a switchable ballast. I use a 400w.
It has a switch for Halide or HPS then you can just buy each bulb.
Use the Halide for Vegg
Use The HPS for fruiting.

p.s. I bought the switchable ballast and and The bulbs around $200 bucks

you can veg with na hps,at 2100-3000 k,it is not as good as a more blue bulb but it does just fine.if you can afford both well thats better if you cant get hps;you can by conversion bulbs if you wany

yea i got a dual ballast that runs both 430w hps and mh bulbs thats what i use , but changing my whole system and going hydro as well next time around

whats up Nelly, hell yeah the Dual ballst is the way to go.
I love it. and dont have to fuck around with CFL cept for seedlings.

Want to go cheap then throw some CFl's on them and enjoy your shitty harvest.
Nothing is cheap man.
You can find ways to cut cost, but some thing are non negligible.
Lights and Nutrients is where the money is.

i got 6 cfl 24 watt and they dont do nuthin compare to the sun. i want something similar to the sun or much stronger. so im going with a 400 watts system. what i am expecting is for them to outperform the sun. i want to harvest it in 2month from seed instead of 5 or 6
