Lighting question.

Hi all.
I have some general questions about my lighting setup.

I'm a beginner so, i started out very small and with an old fish tank (salt water) ballast and fixture.
Is this an ideal light for growth? The thing is designed for growing Coral's (lots of blue) so I assumed it would work well for Plant growth as well.

I read somewhere that this kind of bulb will not yield good results.

Here's a link to the bulb. http://www.saltysupply.com/product-p/mb2815.htm

Any information would be very useful.

For about $50 you can get 2 clamp reflectors and some larger cfls that would be much better.

Really? So, its not worth it? Been on for about a month now and I see little progress compared to some other stuff here.

Could also be the crappy seeds I used.

The lights for marine tanks are ideal for growing coral, thats what they are designed for. But as stated previously, not ideal for weed. They will grow, but probably wont come to much.

CFL for veg=much better.
You can also get a 250watt hps for $70 on ebay.

well, under a 400w MH, this is what she looks like now...

Planning on a Aero setup.. This stuff smells so good now, and I've still got like 3 weeks of flowering..

All other 3 look the same.

Really proud of my 1st grow :)
