I bought this 90w quad band ufo a few weeks ago for $200 and dont see much gain over cfls. The guy claims they work great and that Im the only one that have ever complained about his ufo lights. He has like 6000 pos feedback and no negs I think its called sunlighthydro on eBay if you guys want to check it out. I just dont know if this was a good $200 investment when it seems cfls do the same. Thanks for the input.

LED's are the future of growing, but unfortunately they are so damn overpriced atm that you should prolly just send it back and get an HID light. In a couple of years you'll be able to get a large LED panel for $200-$300. Try your LED venture again then IMO. :leaf:

got my light on amazon.com $175 w/ shipping for a 400 watt MH/HPS conversion lamp from HTG supply. Came with an HPS & MH light in 4 days, great system. :leaf:

If you've seen no gain, send it back and pocket 200 and deal with the cfls.

Or invest in a COOLTUBE hps/mh which will maintain your temps.

Good luck n happy growin!

I have no dog in this fight (led vs. Hid). Simply passing along what I read. According to Skunk magazine (current issue) the 90 watt LED's have been tested against HID lights recently and the 90 watt led smoked the 400 watt hps it was tested against by about 15% greater yeild with tomatoes. IF true this is pretty impressive for a light that uses a fraction of the electricity at a similar cost (199 dollars) and much less heat. I'm definately starting to consider led lighting now which i never did before.

Yeah thats a bunch of bull IMO. The one I bought is next to worthless waste of 90w I could be using elsewhere. I have that issue and yes they hype them up a lot. I think sometimes they (any marketing scemers) hype up a bunch of bull to make sales and get a piece of the sales. Thats really all americans do, thats what drives our economy is new products, the people who sell them and the people who make them. bongsmilie

Entirely possible. i've seen a few good grows with them though. I'm personally hoping good things come from some of the newer plasma lights being tested now. They obviously work very well (as oposed to the old tech plasma). Now if the price would just come down. :):peace:

Companies will pretty much tell you what ever their customers want to hear.

Show me something that shows a 90 watt led system doing better then a 400 watt with the same everything.

Also im local to a HTG been in their mutliple times and those leds aren't hot but loud.

LED lights just can't stack up against hps. LED lights are way more efficient based upon the amount of electricity they use, but their discharge just isn't as strong and doesn't contain as much useable light. Keep watching LEDs though. In the near future, they'll have worked out the kinks and LED will be the best way to go.

It sounds like you got a bunk version of a LED light, there are a few people here using them, I am one of them

But you need to get it through a reputable place, I went through prosource? I think, but I also spent a little more money than you did

I have also seen what this light can do, you may need to do some more homework on these good luck
