i agree with you, if it was only 1 or 2 plants. there is 6 all huddled together. without leafing them, then certain nodes and branches dont get sufficient light. each to their own ya know?

Both leaves and the buds need flowers. Put a black plastic cover over a branch on your flowering lady, so it cant get light. Tell me what that bud looks like vs. a bud that was just under a shaded part of the branch. It does need the light. I agree to the statement to each his own because I have seen many arguments and both positive and negative aspects of both. What works for you might not work for me and visa versa.

wow its like you read my mind,i actually pondered this question to myself numerous times,thank you for clarifying it for me:-P.

note to self:do NOT cut tomato vine to expose tomato:

oh hell yeah. since i big leafed, the bottom nugs are starting to fill out a little more and their gettin harder each day. the smell is just incredible. its like a concentrated version of what i have under my 1000w HPS. way more skunky than fruity.

Nice set up. I just orders 2 90w tri band UFOs. I was wondering about your yield from the first run you had compared to the HPS.

i didnt do a comparison test. yes, i did try to compare with 1 photo, but there were things that werent right at that time. my HPS bulb was waaay past needing to be replaced. i had other strains going under the HPS and only one P.Rain. it got pushed aside by the DPDs and i didnt end up harvesting much from it, hehehe. i also didnt veg with the last unit, just flower. i ended up with 80 grams, tightly trimmed up (im very anal). its looking very nice this time around. stay tuned for my next test. i will be doing a side by side 'watt for watt' comparison with 2 LumiGrow ES units against a 600w HPS. i cant wait, should be off the hook.

man i would also try individual pots, like 2 gal pots. i think you would of had 5x the harvest with them

yeah, i was thinking that maybe seperate pots might have worked better. i might give it a try next test.

Hey, I just got my 160W hybrid today from www.ledgrowlightsdirect.com and it is pretty cool and hella bright, like blinding bright. There are 3 switches on the light that let you control the colors (at first I thought the light was a dud... switches were off... doh!). I am thinking that I'll start a grow and post my results? Let me know if any of you are interested in seeing what this bad boy is gonna do ;)

Sorry quick question, so for your next grow your putting $3000 worth of LED's next to $300 worth of HPS? Shouldn't you use a 1000W if not two? It would make the LED a more justifiable purchase...

6 1/2 week update. my back went out when i was tending to my garden, so i have been out of comission for a bit. anyways...... these buds are hard as rocks. i cant wait till harvest time rolls around.
