we've always strived to for the best information possible and not the product hype of the moment. That's why we haven't jumped on the
LED lighting bandwagon or pushed the overly complex and overly priced nutrient formulas promoted by some popular product lines.
we are bombarded with product info from manufacturers and suppliers and they all claim that what they're selling is the best there is. So who do you believe?
It's always been our business philosophy that the best speaks for itself, we put most new products through our own testing process and let them do just that.
We are not scientist but we do our best to eliminate variables and keep all tests as fair as possible. We offer this information simply as a resource to help you in making the best product decisions.
Nutrient Comparison Test - Week 1
Click below to see the photo's on the first week of our latest nutrient challenge. This is the fourth in a series of test we have run on the
Canna nutrient line. Canna is the best selling line in the world but we don't take for granted that best selling means best product.
However, one can't argue with success.
In our first side by side we tested against
General Hydroponics Flora line on patio tomatoes and the results were dramatic.
Canna's Coco line took a commanding lead from week one and widened the gap throughout the test. The end result was impressively in Canna's favor.
Our second test matched Canna against
Dutch Master Gold. Canna took an initial jump during the first week of veg but DM gained ground and both products were yielding competitive tomato plants until the last two weeks of flower when Canna again took a noticeable lead in size, yield and quality.
Our third test pitted our champion against the popular
Botanicare Pro Grow and Bloom nutrient. The difference was nearly as drastic as in the GH test. Canna held a strong lead on all levels throughout and by the end the Canna plant was easily two thirds larger then the Botanicare plant. We offered samplings of the fruit to customers in blind tastings and everyone found the Canna tomatoes to be sweeter and more flavorful.
Our latest test was started on 2/25/09 using cuttings from our same patio tomato which had been taken the previous week and rooted in an
Easy Cloner.
