LED Light growing

Hi all,

I've just changed my veg room lighting from a 400watt HPS for 4 x 15 watt LED grow pannels. The reasons for switching are heat issues and to save $$ on electricity. I still have a 600 watt HPS for growing and thats staying. I will post any changes in growth for those interested and I was also hoping to hear from others who have tried using LED's to grow.

I would have suggested the ufo 90w or something with a decent coverage and watts. May I ask if these were just cheapest leds you could find or if you actually researched the lights you purchased.

All my leds work because they are well built and the right color leds. floro tubes are low heat and insanely cheap and great for vegging.

Dude thats actually bad advice, the LED 90 sucks.. Any LED ufo sucks horribly and they wont produce shit but leggy plants. You need GOOD leds to grow GOOD, THICK, COMPACT, NUGGET.... which is always the goal indoors. Not only do you need good leds.. you need lots of them

True that!! Heres 2 grows I did- the first is my current-400 watt cool tubed hps+ occasional cfl supplementation, the second is with nearly 300 watts of led.1 prosource 90w ufo(junk)- 1 90w 660 nm red ufo(burned out in 2 months) 2 12 watt(1 watt cree diodes-3000k white) 3 45 watt 225 1/2 watt glow panels.I just had to try this nonsense for myself-fucked around for months-sold the crap on fleabay. The leds I've worked with-and yes the 1 ufo was a tri-band.Thank god I kept an hps grow going as well. The first 6 pics are my current grow-5 weeks flowering. The last 4 are the led grow.leds:roll:

and this appears to be yet another abandoned led testimonial. For those considering led, ask yourselves: where is the hard data from reputable sources (not the discount suck-asses) where o where?

Yes, I've seen quite a few grows like Rumples.Wanna know how it will end?I realize that Rumples the last white hope here, but...can we all be realistic for a second?Wanna see some 180 jumbo pics?Vegged great-early flowering appeared to be going OK.And then...Hey, if you have some documented proof I'd really love to see it.Me and everyone else.

and he got those for free, and he openly admits his skepticism.So...maybe he'll be the first in the world to show everyone that this is all more than shady science, and even shadier marketing.

I think between his and Irishboy we should see the truth. Myself I am also doing a test on a LED light. It does great for veggie mode but I am doing the flower mode right now. Compared to my HPS set-up it seems it is (LED) lagging behind alittle. I had some weak sick plants that was outgrown by other plants so they was buried. I figure this would make a good test subjects. Now I wish I took some healthy ones instead. But I do have some better subject in another set-up. See attached pics
