I had some gold once in '88...looked basically like mexican but I got so high induced a little acid flashback...oh and a delivery collective that I have got clones and some limited meds from had what they were calling Acapulco gold, but it was just mexican.
About the same time...I kept smelling weed at a house my gf regularly babysat at...they were in the process of moving and there were 3 quarter size packages if plastic and foil...I kept asking my gf to "take one...he wont care"...then two, then one...and she took it! turned out it was the only REAL Thai I ever saw (seen some shit tied to a stick, but not the same)Probably the heaviest stone ever.
Anyway...39 smoked a half cashed bong hit at 11...fun but did nothing...then at 13 (1983) an older kid passed us a joint...we immediately bought a $15 "four finger" bag of brown mexican schwag...pocketed a few toxic copper plumbing fittings from the local hardware store...cut a piece of screen out of my window and smoked the whole thing.
Smoked until Thanksgiving '89 and following ordering a light from an ad in high times and UPS turning shipping records over (Operation Green Merchant) My local PD broke into my house...then came back the next day (Thanksgiving!)...so I got diversion (only one failed grow...not growing at the time, they got 9 grams of seeds and stems) quit for a year and half or so...then again for a year trying to be a good example for my son who had not lived with us prior...
So with the exception of those couple of years and a few others days...every day for 26 years
Luckily I have not had to smoke the schwag for years!

Acapulco Gold in the seventies, this was the first premium smoke for me in the late 70's. It was Gold, all the way thru, was $20 lid (we were leery) took a hit off a joint and my tongue swelled up, needed water right away.
Panama Red - late 70's,
only saw it once, it was like Sativa Females, no males, kinda like the first sensi I tried. Would knock your dick in the dirt.

another good Mexican strain from that state. Late 70's - from here on weed started getting pricey, but much better. A friend brought up 50 lbs from So Cal to Alaska. He got busted with just a little, but had all of it stashed in his doors. We were able to help him while he was in jail awaiting trial( he got off). Brought him brownies.
Those were the days, but the best weed is still to come.

Well I'm a couple months shy of fifty seven, so about forty two years. I do remember the columbian gold, the panama red, the oaxacan from mexico. I even had the opportunity to once smoke some wacky weed. The black hash with the white streaks of opium running through it. I remember it so well my next grow is a predominately sativa grow. I'll be growing one of those gold strains. I'm ready for some sativa again, indica is ok for evening smoke but I want something more uplifting and energetic for the days.
