what hydro shops do you guys go to?

I've only been to the big tomato and the place of broadway and 3rd? (cant remember, around that area)

I don't much like the place on broadway, the kid that's always in there is kind of an idiot. Every time I've gone to the big tomato there are always a bunch of growers talking and hanging out, exchanging ideas and stuff. seems like a really good atmosphere.

Any body ever heard of this?

I had a fellow grower tell me he does this all the time.

I googled it and only found one post (different forum) where they agreed but said the additional growth was not all that

so I decided to try it

picked my smallest bud and gave her a hair cut similar to fimming, will keep posting updates to see if it works

That sounds like another technique I heard about called bud pinching. Not sure how they compare.

In bud pinching you just pinch about 1/8 or 1/24 of an inch off every bud with your fingernails about once a week. You begin when you're a week or two into flower and you stop 2 weeks before harvest. And I was told to keep a cotton swab with rubbing alchahol handy as your fingers & fingernails will get sticky.

I wouldn't mine doing or seeing a side by side comparison. See if clean cut is better than fingernail pinching.

Let me know how it turns out.

I had a friend tell me that he talked to a med card holder this weekend that was prescribed 25 plants (to grow) instead of 6 because he does not smoke only does edibles and the doc told him you'll need more plants to make your edibles

was the first time I had heard that

PS welcome Shrubs, glad to have ya here!

There's a place where you can get your licensed increased up to 40 plants. I only got mine to 20 because

I didn't want to raise any "red flags". I think the name was Millenium meds (could be wrong). He advertises on Craigs List, found the link http://denver.craigslist.org/com/1517824310.html
If you use him, ask for Greg and tell him Dan recommended him. I think they do licenses once a week, not sure.

He's also the only dispensory that I've found so far that knows anything about growing.

Hope that helps

I'm in aurora so the Big Tomato on 6th is the closest place, but everything at that location is hush, hush like it's still illegal or something. lol They're overprice too.

I mostly go to Nics Nursery, much better prices and a horticulturist is always on duty.

Also been to the grow store on Colfax recently, much better than the Big Tomato by my house.

I've also heard good things about Paulino's on Broadway N of Colfax. Riddleme might be able to tell you more about them.

opium is that any good ? is it sativa or indica?
Can't say first hand how good it is, I haven't smoked any yet.

It's a Sativa/Indica Hybrid (50/50) with an 8 to 9 week flowering period, and they're outgrowing everything else so far. The NY Diesel is giving them a run for their money though. Plus they have crazy branching going on, even before I FIMmed them.

The THC level is reported to be 15% to 18% so it's one one of the better strains potency wise. It took 2nd place twice at the Sativa Cups.

I'll be testing all my stuff before selling it, so I'll be able to give you a first hand opinion in about 3 months.

Here's a write up on it that I found.

This bittersweet hybrid with high calyx to leaf ratio can be grown as a sea of green, or multi-branch plant. Huge bracts pile up on each other, making fine-looking trichome colas - some of the biggest buds ever seen. One experienced medical grower respectfully calls Opium "the totem". Raised hydroponically and on coco, Opium performs phenomenally in terms of manageability and vigorous growth. Opiums fragrance and tastes are composed mostly of fruit. Most plants have a creamy tropical punch taste. Opium is a majestic plant, with intense smoke from liftoff to landing. Opium does not leave you crashing on the ground at the end of the ride. Her Sativa heritage registers in every cell of your body, lifting you up with an amazing cerebral high complete with visuals and racing thoughts. * Winner HighTimes Cannabis Cup 2006 Silver medal (Bio category).

Yeah, that's why I got my licensed increased. I have to make my meds plus make money to live on till I can return to work.

I'm doing a 2 month perpetual, 8 plants per, and I'll be able to keep 4 mothers. The $110 or so to increase the limit is worth it if money isn't tight.

What I did to decide about strains is to investigate any strain that I heard about that I had an interest in and were available to me as clones. I did my investigating at the seed dispesory sites. I found a few that give stats and even post reviews given by other growers who've grown it before.
