150 watt hps grow with Northen Lights 7 WEEKS

joker gave you some decent info for the most part. heres what you do buddy, take that hps and put it about 4 inches from your plants. that is a 5 gallon bucket so give it about 2 or 3 liters of water every few days(i usually stick my finger about an inch or two in the soil to see the dryness. pinch your MAIN STEM at about every other node to the point where you hear a crack. this is damaging the cytoplasm and will make the plant grow stronger fatter stems which will make ur growth more robust...and finally the big step...REVERT HER BACK TO VEG! from the looks of her progress, it is not too late to have her go back into veg and get some real size and leaves on her. she should not hermie, although she may start to grow some weird leaves, she should be fine. hope this helps
Hey man, I've never heard of the pinching strategy...that's pretty interesting. I would expect pinching the stem would cut off the flow of xylem and phloem throughout the plant right? I'm sure if you "crack" the main stem you notice some growth retardation for a period correct? How long does that usually last? Thanks and Happy Holidays!

after doing this, my plants stop growth for a few days while it is repairing the cell wall stronger than before, then they take off. the wall rebuilds stronger to prevent this from happening again. doing this and using a fan, i get the stem near up to the 10th node to be just as solid as the very bottom of it. try it on a couple of your babies. i do it about once every two or three weeks

if i could actually get the camera closer( its the webcam of the top of the laptop) then i could show u, we actually did the pinching and tied it down a little bit. there was excellent growth while doing this, ive been doin so every node. The ph of the tap water was actually about 8.5, i lower it down to about 6 then added nutes, and DIDNT water once today, and it grew a whole inch just today

I am very happy to hear that my advice was useful to you. I would like to know how things go with the rest of the process.

I am a little curious about the pinching thing. I haven't heard it done in that manner before but does make sense. I have heard of and done it myself to train plants to make shapes with them. I had a 13 month old girl that had given me some hefty amounts of buddage during flowering that I trained to grow as a box. If grown straight up and down she would have surpassed 15' tall way too quickly. I would pinch the parts of the plant I wanted to grow differently then slowly bend it down and tie it to the bucket. I find your advice a bit intriguing and may try it on a couple of the plants I'm growing right now. Thanks for the tip. I'll throw a rep your way.

yea i do alot of different things with my plants. during flowering, i also pinch my buds, this is a little complex...well not really but most ppl never heard of it lol. as for our buddy, NEVER let your water get to a ph of 8. keep it between 6.5-6.8 if you can. your plants will luv you. keep up the work and get some pics soon! lol

also why are my leaves that are sprouting off the tops have kinda a yellowish green look to it, i mean it looks healthy just not green or dark green like the other leaves

6 isnt the best ph but you should be fine. as far as those leaves, they are that color bc they are immature and just sprouting, they will get darker as they get bigger.

Dark green means over feeding so try to keep the colors between yellowish and dark green.
okay so its been a week, a lot more positive is happening now, lowered ph and feeding, its growing much faster now, just started 5th week of flowering-my nutes are 6 ml grow, 15ml bloom, and 10 ml honey from humbolt nutrients. Since i dont have rest of the nutrients does that mean i can up these 3 a bit?

Not sure but average is roughly figured as 1/2g-1g per watt of light.
ok well im hopin for the best, atleast an ounce of 2. But does this look normal for 5 weeks old flowering? Its really like 3 weeks if you take out the 2 weeks in took to induce it. Am i going to have a long flowering period?? thanks

Well if you do consider it with the 2 week induction it looks right on schedule because most plants don't even start the actual "budding" until 3 weeks in so they look accurate and I personally feel they look a little stretched but will work out fine imho. Just consider the first 2 weeks as vegging and you are on track with flowering. They look great man I love the look of flowering plants. Their just so... SEXY lol

well at the end of the day today, i started to actually see bud now not just hairs, the leaves are also starting to curl, does this mean i should also cut back on watering or should i stay at every other day? and ive also gave the plant straight nutrients ever since i started basically, should i flush once to clean up salts buiulding up? Then start with a fresh batch of nutrients?

I would say most definitely not every other day. I only water 1s every 4 days using a 80% soil 20% perlite mix and for the soil I use miracle grow potting mix and I water plain water 1 water wait 3-4 days and water with nutes and then plain - nutes - plain and its been working well for me. Check the link in my sig for my grow and it's kinda far behind yours but mine are pretty bushy girls and I plan on throwing them into flower soon. Their about 10-20" tall and are showing preflower so I think their ready. I say allow the soil to dry enough to let O2 in and the roots will definitely react to that with great results. Are you doing any kind of CO2 generator?

well mine doesnt look anywhere near your NL lol, but remember i did have lots of problems with cutting the plant in half....twice and ph problems. And with the watering, its been very small waterings like 12 oz every other day, does that sound better?
