liver problems caused by smoking pot?

Hey I had a blood test last week, and today my doctor told me my liver function should be under 40 and its at 79... what that number mean I dont know he wasnt very helpfull... I'm only 19 I shouldnt be having these problems, I hardly ever drink, I smoke pot several times a day though, and I also smoke ciggerettes.
If anything knows anything I'd really like to know. thanks in advance:?

that sux yo..im not really sure but it is possible.. just quit weed for about a month and get another blood test if it gets beter than thats ur prob if not then u can smoke again... ur liver repairs its self.. idk how fast but given it a month of no beer and no weed cud help u..

I only drink like once a month so that cant possibly be it.
I found out its the amount of dead cells that I have a problem with... not sure if they mesure it by percent or what... but marijuana does kill cells so maybe it is the problem... I hope not :(

oh shit tru.. maybe killin all dem cells is maken ur liver fix its self slower causeing u a problem... maybe ur genetics have bad liver repairing cells idk and smoken dun help? lol

do you take pills any kind even legal one's drink because when you smoke your liver has nothing to do with it unless you are eating it.

yea I'm on an anti depresent called lexipro or som spellng like that.
I thought the THC goes into your blood and effects everything???
I dont know I googled marijuana smoking and liver function problems and didnt come up with much :/

You might want to check on the fact that MJ kills cells, as far as I know it does not, and I know it kills less brain cells than alcohol. As for liver problems I would say no way, check into the pills you take and anything else you intake that is bad for you, you don't drink much alcohol I know but the liver is basically a filter, it filters out poisons...THC is not poison, although I am not a doctor so what I say means nothing


My advice is call your doctor and ask him what's up, don't you love how we hear such "serious" news and we don't want to bother to ask...lol. Good luck with everything, also if the doc was overly concerned I think you would know some more. Maybe even do some online research at a med forum to ease your mind....webmd.com

yea at first I was really freaked... but he told me when I was high as hell... so that didn't help much... I'm alittle less woried about it now ... but still worried...
yea I was tested for hepatitis... just as I said that they said hepatitis on T.V....
and I dont have it...

one of the side affects is liver damage... but I dont know if what I have is conciderd liver damage... I'm going to look further into that

it can lead to livar damage your doctor should know this maybe time for new doc i dont know bring it up to him i hope everything turns out allright i realy do.

Prescription drugs rock, anytime you hear liver damage as a side effect you are being poisoned, this is legal but a fucking plant isn't.

Fucking brilliant, I'm sure you're fine but I would knock the pills if at all possible, just me though, I hate pills.

I just switched to a new doctor... I've had this guyy for less than a month... he must know I take that though right? it should be in my files or somthing... or maybe not I got th script from a psychiatrist that had nothing to do with my old GP

drop the pills, drop the cigs, and only smoke mj. you're liver will be fine and you will be a much much healthier individual

man... but I like my ciggerettes... I was planing on quiting next year... but also latly I've been coughing up this black mucus. I think its black from smoke but I dont know I've been ignoring it... yea maybe its about time to stop...
and as for the pills I dont know, if I dont take them for one day I'm pissed and depressed as fuck the next day
