hey,
just wanted to kno if anyone could tell me how to grow mushrooms? is there a grow kit i can by? if there is where can i get it
thanks

Shroomotopia.net is a lot friendlier than shroomery and they will answer all your questions without making fun of you. I can help you if you need it but shroomcity.com is the only vendor I know of that doesn't sell home-made growkits for outrageous prices. But I can help you make everything yourself for under $20 and will gladly send you some free spores as long as you don't live in Cali, Georgia or Idaho. PM me if you need help.

crystalpointsupply has the 2nd best manure I have ever tried too, the only one better was Gretchens and she doesn't sell it anymore, her shit was amazing but CP's emix is what I use and it colonizes faster IMO. Not sure how he screens it but it is finer than any shit I have bought elsewhere, no breaking up chunks or anything...

Do a lot of research, trial and error. There is no substitute for experience. I'm a grower of over 25 years and have tried about every method out there. For beginners the pf tek is the easiest and most forgiving method. Use plastic tubs for fruiting, not glass aquariums.
Learn to make your own kits, there's no future in buying pre made kits.

forums.mycotopia.net is an excellent place with friendly and helpful people, in my experience. Checkout spores101 for all your Cubensis spore needs.

i make my home at shroomtalk. very friendly and helpful.

As others have said the best way is to make your own kit. if you dont want to make your own kit, check out the kits at mushbox.com i recommend this one http://www.mushbox.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=8

But for spores, i would go to
sporeworks
http://www.thehawkseye.com/

also, i recommend you get a pressure cooker. the biggest one you can afford the better i would get the $80 23qt from amazon http://www.amazon.com/Presto-23-Quart-Aluminum-Pressure-Cooker/dp/B0000BYCFU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1274050548&sr=8-1

then u need half pint jars. verm and rice flour. that will get you started.

and then you just need a medium sized plastic container, that you can keep humid.
all you need is a medium size tub, that you can

I have this same pressure cooker, and can highly recommend it. It has served me very well thus far. I can PC 24 1/2 pint PF cake jars into it all once, or 7 Quart grain jars. It has a 12yr factory replacement warranty on it, and replacement parts are readily available for it as well. This one will last you for a long time.
