Female or male? *extremely early preflower picture*

I'm gonna have to go with male. sorry.. looks to be more on the 'banana shape' side. Which would indicate male..

but then again.. I don't want to go with it predicting it as being male just by this one picture... plus.. like you said. They're extremely "early" into showing sex. So.. I will say this: 70% Male; 30% that its female. Just judging by what I see.

Good luck though.

The pistils grow once the calyx opens, which is after it develops.. Both male and female primordia look extremely similar, the female primordia looks like a tear drop, where the male looks more like a crab claw or balls.. they are starting to get more elongated as I looked back at it tonight.. I'll see what it looks like tomorrow.

It's probably a male, but don't pull it until we come on and say. Yup she's a he.. Just wait a minute longer let's make sure. You will know when there's good confirmation, a land slide of us will happen along saying.. Yup that's a boy.

what would you guys think this picture is? (not my picture, just using it as an example because I KNOW which gender this plant turned out to be.)

In in respect of the photo, female buddy, quite obviously. I can see the white hairs in the background just popping through. Those naughty hairs!

so you start a thread asking for help, then want to test us?

:finger:
 I'm simply saying that the calyx must form in order to produce the pistils, the calyx doesn't form after the pistils, it forms before the pistils, that's how it works.

I've seen quite a many threads where it looks very similar to what I posted and it wound up female. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that it is very possible to see the forming calyx before the pistils.

You will get the same answer from me. Wait and see.. (I can't see the hairs in the background though)

You see we have all seen balls and pistils lots, but later in the game you don't care too much. We aren't studying the plants as closely as you are now, so the first little signs I might not know.. I have a full male I am growing right now, I certainly know what they look like. And yeah I have a bunch of females, and I know what they look like.

Point is, when we can tell by the pic for sure we will let you know. There is nothing wrong with posting some early photos up, I wanna see them. But you have a little more waiting to do for sure.

The "hairs" that you see in that image are actually trichomes on the plant (The "hairy leaf" trichomes, not the ones you're thinking about).

The calyx in that image hasn't split yet and therefore the pistils were not out yet. 2 days later the first pistils came out of the developing calyx's

and i am saying "i usually see hairs first".

you calling me a liar? with the eye roll smilie i'd assume you are.

bongsmilie

i have 30 plants outside that are showing preflowers. i could go take pics, but i'm too lazy. i have nothing to prove and i do a pretty good on sexing, without having to ask others. wait a week and let us all know what it really is.

YOU started the thread. if you already know, why ask?
