I have a few plants left outside, I couldnt believe that termites killed the rest of my crop, I had them in pots, they come up through the hole in the bottom and eat the roots right at the base of the plant, they didnt eat the rest of the roots. any way my question is, can I move the ones I have left to the inside, I have treated them an they are bug free, but do not want to lose the last 3 plants , they are about 3 months old and are doing great. any advice would be helpfull.

i would be very, very careful. is it really possible to say they are bug free? who knows what could be waiting to hatch in the dirt. how did you teat them?

personally i would transplant them into different pots with dirt that you know for a fact is sanitary. i tend to be paranoid though, spider mites and gnats scare the shit out of me.

would be best to put them in different soil i think. n yeh you can move from outdoor to indoor but start off wit the light cycle the same as it is outdoors n slowly move up to an 18/6 so they don stress out on ya. definately best to keep them in the same environment from sprout but i hear ya on the bug thing... indoors baby, they gotta be comfy

thanks you 2 for the info, I was going to repot them as the pots I have them in I think are to small " 8inch pots " , going to move them up to 12inch clay pots with some good soil, like you say how do I know the bugs are gone, I am going to take my time repotting and look them over real good. I havent seen any spider mites or anything, I have had some real good luck till the termites, all the leaves look good no bug bites on them, some are turning yellow at the bottom but that is expected right?

what kind of light should I use, I have 2 kinda tall desklamps made by Harriet Carrter, they are 500 watt each and they say it is supposed to mimmic sunlight. I want one hanging light but do not know what to get. I am building my cabnite this weekend. so all the help I can get is much welcome and thanks b4 hand .

anyways I will keep everyone posted on how it goes.

are those halogen lights? if they are don't use them. they put off way too much heat, esspecially for a cabinet grow and they won't put off the light spectrum you want. do u have pics of the leaves that are yellowing? i'm sure its probably normal, but its nice to get a look at it. how big is the cabinet ur gonna grow in? that will determine what type of light to run. probably something like a 400 watt with a switchable ballast would be cool. the switchable ballast is so you can veg under metal halide, then flower under high pressure sodium (both of these bulbs are high intensity discharge[HID]. you may even want to go with cfl's, but i'm not too familiar with them. they would run cooler and you could put 'em all over inside the cabinet. i was thinking of adding some to my grow in the corners. if you decide top get an HID light you'll also want a hood that's low profile, so it can be raised as high as possible in the cabinet while maintaining good coverage.

hey wampuscat those lights that u have will work one of my friends grew his fist plant in soil with that kinda light and it working fucking awesome. if u want a HID there is a thread on here to show u places to find cheap lights and i mean cheap i bleave there was a 400 watt HPS the whole set up for i think $98 or maybe $100 but that is a great deal if u ask me. and check amazon or ebay for some deals. back to the lights u have are they CFLs? if so great. and an other thing u could do is transplant them in coco fiber. its clean sterile and u get a shit load for yer money if u buy the bricks. just get a big tot and add water once its all broken up and read add a little perlite to it so it drans well and holds air really well.

3 Months old, you should be flowering by or close to being done with it.

well they have incandescent lights that are to put off a sun light like feel. but the cfs are the good ones. my buddy used the the same desk lamp he is talking about

incandescent lights put off light far to the right of the red spectrum, some are enhanced to include more blue light. cfs are the good ones? no the good ones would be mh and hps. cfl's are a cheap alternative to HID bulbs, and work well for many on smaller scale grows. whats a "sun like feel"? does that mean when you're under it, it feels like the sun?

I am running to the Dr's office to pick up some things, I will tell all about what size and all the cabnite will be. oh the yellow leaves are the very bottom ones , but I think that is norm as all the plants did it. and yes 3 months old, have to wait another 2 months b4 the sun changed to shorter days here, so moving them inside I can get them to flower alot faster. I will write back later to tell more about the lights and all.

ok here is what I am trying to build, a cabnite big enough for 4 plants, the cabnite I am going for 6 foot wide 5 feet tall 3 feet deep to the back with an open front. lights I was going to use a canipy type with the long bulbs ( need to know what kind to get im not sure what to get ). also with the 2 lamps with 500 watt each. I was going to make a small bench for the pots to sit on so they could be moved easier if needed ( about 6 to 8 inches high ). the light at the top ( canipy I think they are called ) I am makeing a hole in the top of the cabnite so I can use rope to lower and raise it as the plants grow, the other 2 lamps are adjustable as well. the inside of the cabnite I am painting white. and for the open front I am useing black plastic to staple at the top and velcrow the sides so I can have a door to close while the lights are out.

If any ones knows if this is what I need let me know, or if something else would work plz tell me the size needed. thanks

I would also like to ask where should I go to get these lights , this is the first time I have ever tried , I do not know anything so bear with me ya'll.

I will also need a timer for the lights to, I will look around tomorrow when I go get my wooden supplies for the cabnite. I know this is alot of asking LOL, but would mirical grow fert and soil work, or do I need something better to fert with?

thanks

all the pots here have them, never seen a outdoor pot with out holes. any way answer to question is

we get alot of rain here and didnt want them to get root rot, rain was coming down so hard the other day that it broke the main stalk on one of them, the plants are 3 months old, they have big stalks, lots of rain to do that kinda damage, so that is why I have drain holes.

reason they arent ready to flower outside is because they are outside, light cycle has to change I think, not sure but thats what I have read, but they are going to flower pretty soon after I get them inside.

I found some of the lights that look all curly, some are blue and the others are just bright, what ones should I get. I have a light hood but dont know what kind of bulbs to get for it, as you all can see I am tring to spend as less money as I can right now and will later add better supplies for the cabnit. I havent been yet but does walmart have a light timer? I should have everything ready next week sometime and will post a pic.
