hmm, alright well the clay soil has washed over the top of the soil I put in so its probably suffocating I guess I didn't really think about that because I know the mix I put it is great stuff lots of perlite and vermiculite. I didn't use too much of the native soil in the mix so.. should I be ok if I cultivate the surface to let some oxygen in? I might mulch around the base to to keep the rain from washing it back over it. And also when it rains all the sand splashes up and coats the stems and undersides of the bottom leaves so that is probably choking her out as well.
I went 2'x2' this year next year will be different. I will be more prepared and more aware, Already making plans of course.
yeah Its a cheap piece of crap vivitar 50$ from walmart. I've adjusted the settings and pretty much I've been doing what you mentioned and taking the pics at dimmer times of day or when its overcast.

Yes, cultivate the clay out of the topsoil, and replace with Gardner & Bloome Soil Building Compost in a riing around the plant about 1/2-1 inch thick in the middle, with a 2" barrier on the outside of the ring to prevent more clay from washing in. I would recommend sprinkling some Earth worm castings at two double handed handfuls for every 12" away from the base of the plant your ring goes. It will help hold everything in place while allowing gas transfer, among many other things. The most important part is watering as soon as its all laid out.
Trim the under growth a little, anything fully shaded most of the day (for large plants), and for smaller plants you could try training techniques that pull the inner branches out away from the plant as well as the tops

I guess It is not available in my area, but I will cultivate and feed with what I can make up myself thanks again TLDI actually don't like the G&B SBC, it just works really well as a mulch, providing nutes, easy airaetion, drainage, ph buffers, and water retention while breaking up natural clays. It also helps keep the roots cool

Yeah and I have very limited indoor experience, basically I've only been growing since my join date of june 2009. Now I got a 3ft mini bush, so I don't think I'm doing to bad progress is progress and I feel like I'm setting a pretty good pace. Next year is going to be different, much has been learned this year. Next year will be better, I waited to long too long this year to shock my plants with 12/12 for sex and I didn't have enough time for re veg and to make the adjustment to 15 hours of light and I think it slowed them down. I also didn't protect them with cages until it was too late for one of them. Others I put in places that were not receiving enough light, and I didn't dig big enough holes and I defiantly did not put out enough plants. Next year I am digging 20 4'x4' holes in better locations I'm going to fence them in better and I'm going to use the 12" round coir mats to cover the soil at the base to help keep away the digging creatures and prevent the rain from splashing up sand and clay so it doesn't coat the undersides of my plants and suffocate them. I might even use clones if I get legal by then I am 21 now so I'm working on it.
Right on brother. Thats what it's all about, learning from our previous mistakes. Sounds like ya have a plan for next year and I am sure you will end up with a monster of a harvest.
yeah hopefully I can pull something decent this year but realistically I'm looking at 5 ounces on the high side. I needed at least a pound but there is always next year.
