When i was a kid i use to visit my grandpa in Brookings Oregon and the whole way up there i couldn't wait to eat his salmon. Every time i went up there he would have an absolute salmon FEAST. He would have gone out the whole day before, catching sockeye salmon and would cook it up for me and my family in every which way. My favortie was always the smoked salmon and cheese crackers. Although he made a mean salmon jerky also. I remember i could smell him smoking his salmon before were even turned on his street. Man my mouth is watering. I wish i had a smoker.

my wife has been bringing me home some little packages of it. it's getting expensive. i have a smoker in the back shed. i'm gonna dig it out any day now.

Anyone like gravadlax? It's a nice change to plain smoked salmon. I've had far too much in recent years, it's all about salami's and parma ham mmmmmmm
