haha rombomb, i know somebody who is the exact same way, i had to bring him my books and show/ read to him the things he was doing wrong. it helped alot but he is still frustrating to work with. the one word i would use to describe him is STUBBORN
all i can say is hopefully he will learn and smarten up, but if not try and get a solo thing going so you can say wow my shit came out fine while your method doesnt look too good. maybe that will inspire him to listen a bit. but if he's anything like my buddy he wont. so goodluck

I think we're moving in the right direction now guys, I had to put some plants to death today despite some haggling about it but I finally got him to agree that there was a big time difference in the male & female flowers. Then I had to show him how to regulate the co2 tank, he thought it was running when nothing was coming out & the PSI was reading at 0...

Ok, so here goes. Bad news first. I was right about the big trainwreck & the first trainwreck being male. The big white widow is also male!! ARRRGGHGHGH! why why!? However, the smallest trainwreck & the smallest WW are female! Why not the big ones!? WTF!? I was wrong about all the indicas being male though, I removed 3 of them & at least 3 are female, some still haven't shown me for sure yet. Their scents are ranging from piney to sickenly skunky sweet. I can't wait to try the different flavors. ALL the diesels are girls! They all smell different but the same, some grapefruitish, some skunky, some sweet, some just weird.
I added my CO2 tank as well, it is currently running at 4 psi from a 120 lb tank. If anyone has any input on this please let me know.
Also, due to a pest problem, I have added two toads to the garden. Any input on this would be appreciated as well. They can't really get into the plants so I figured it wouldn't hurt for them to eat earwigs & flies & shit lol.

Quick update, my friend is now claiming he got CO2 poisoning after I left. Can anyone give me info on this please? I was running 4 psi out of a 120 lb tank in an unventilated bathroom in a basement. Can co2 rise? I thought it was heavier than oxygen...

from what i know wind can cause the two gases to mix together as theres only a slight difference in density also all gases diffuse throughout a given space. im no scientist and i slept through most of science class so i could be well wrong but i dont see a problem at 4psi how long was it on for before he told you he got poisoned???

Sorry to hear about the males, I have a feeling my biggest short rider is a male but I'm not for sure yet. Its sucks how the biggest ones always seem to be males..
Its funny you metioned something about the toads, I checked my outdoor plants and there was a toad chillin in the pot lol.. I figured I'd leave him alone.. Anyway I have no idea about the co2 thing but good luck figuring it out!

PH can cause plants to go male, I was getting loads of males from popping seeds, even femenized going male....fuckin blows....
Now, I adjust PH to 6.5 -6.2 cause I am soil. So my nute drip is PH balanced and with my cheese and Lemon Ice batch, I landed 50% female on both, 5 each. Very happy, will now spend money on femenized....I read acidic can make plants go male...I was originally at a 5.8 solution...but thats for hydro...
I just harvested a NYCD, nugs are rock hard, crystally and have nice weight, she actually is colas...very nice producing strain. Good Kief as well. I have 3 more NYCDs flowering now and 2 more waiting to go into flower...I like the strain.

Thanks for stoppin by. What the heck does HTH mean? lol I actually didn't end up having much of a problem with males. I only removed 6 plants total out of 25. & I haven't checked my ph once & I don't plan on it either unless I see a serious issue pop up.

The toads lived & have greatly reduced pests in the grow room, so I have to recommend toadage if you have any bugs lol.

Ya my friend is fine & most likely full of shit. I wanted to add an HPS lamp but he's also complaining about his electric bill being higher than last year That's most likely because we've been in the 90's like 10 times already this year & it only happened 3 times in my area all of last summer. He doesn't think about shit like that.
Basically he's gonna be gone & I'll be house sitting for two weeks so while he's away I'm gonna hook the co2 back up along with a 250 watt hps lamp. I figure two weeks under those conditions is better than no weeks, right?
