Best Ratio?

Just got rid of a 400w mh/hps because of intense heat and low humidity problems not mention unreal temps in my res. I am going to run with cfl's and see how it goes. My question is how many 6500k to 2700k lights for veg and vice versa for flowering? I read R.C.C. Official CFL Facts it suggests a 2:1 ratio. I have seen other people say less than 50% is optimal. Also saw 4:1 ratio and LED's are a 7:1 ratio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ratio of what. dont m,ake sence. how does a light heat you rez..not supposed to be in room. light and water makes pathogens. and cfl arent that cool compared to a real light. lots less yeild but no heat.
when they say a 42 watt cfl is eqwual to 150 watter...thats not a hid luight..its a reg house light...shitty penetration.

whats the room size and what size fan to vent this

Thought it was pretty self expanatory but apparently not...how many 2700k bulbs (red light for flowering) should I mix in with my 6500k bulbs ( blue light for veg) during my veg cycle and the opposite for my flowering cycle? And it's a 4'w x 2'd x 7'h tent. Had 3 4" vortex 190 cfm fans running with a cool tube and couldn't keep temp in there below 90 degrees...with intake coming from window and exhaust going in to ceiling. Running Ebb & Flow and res sat right under my table...

Looking for an experienced CFL grower to help me out...Thanks

BTW Medi if you take a look around the site you'll see some awesome grows using just CFL's!! Wouldn't knock until you try it both ways!

um ive been growing for over 20 years..i work for a major co in this market..you dont think ive played with cfl to give the answers i have...been there years ago and moved on to real lights. they have their needs but not in a flower room.
there is no set way to chose the amount of blue to red. can use all red if ya wanted. either way cfl is only good for about 3 inches of good penetrating lumens so is why i sat are silly to go backwards to them

you seem to have plenty of venting. maybe just not set up right then. hell i have a 6 inch vortex here and 5 times your lighting and im cool enough here. that room size is only 56 cfm anyways. so you have enough fans there to almost see ice in that room if was set up right.

i run a 6x9 and 8 tall with 2k lights and only need 450 cfm fan...no ac here either. you have way smaller room and a fraction the lighting

and if you looked at them youd see cfl bring way less product and quality. less light always means less potency as it will never achieve its full potential. they work to a point bu why go backwards if you already have a 400
you wont loose the heat..not when they have the ballast built right in the bulb...keeps the heat in room then.
if you do use cfl it is best to use more and a smaller watt to get better light penetration and light dispersments.

Yeah really don't know what the problem was with heat issue. I had a friend who dropped the clones I am growing on my lap totally unprepared come over and take a look and he said everything was fine for the ventilation. Sorta insane if you ask me...room temp here is around 77 degrees during the day and temp was in the mid 90's. Night feel to low 90's??? Both my friend and I checked all the ducting and at this point really not what to do other than get an AC! Trying to explore other options to keep the heat down during ther summer months...cus it will get atleast another 10 degrees hotter and still have a month to veg...

Lots of guys sitting around toking on $75 Mexican Shit Weed that would tell you how much CFL's suck.... I'd pay $200 for some of the CFL weed I've seen grown way before I'd pay $75.....

You'd be safe with 200w per plant. More would even be better but you'd be getting crowded.. I'd use all 23w 2700's.

get back you 400 watter and make a better intake and exhaust fans come on now you can go to lowes or ace hardware and buy whats called a bathroom ceiling exhaust fan there like 40 bucks each there 4 inch too ! witch meens you can use the same ducting that youy would use for your washer and dryer ! Go Figure ! By the way REP 619 to the fullest Im from Southern California 92020.

he dont need anything..he has way over kill fans. just needs to se4t them up right. hell he has less light in a smaller room than me and more fans...no need to waste more money to learn this,..
pics relay help here. firt in the line for the venting is filter. then fan then through sealed hoods. if no sealed hoods then 1 fan in and 2 out..i think you said there was 3 right. if there is a hood then al;l lines want to be as straight as you can. each curve or drop in the line is added length to it and needs bigger fans

yoiur room is only about 60 cfm and you have 600 cfm in fans...thats a wind tunnel..something deffinatly wrong there.,so no bath fan will do if he cant do it with this,.

You can go a number of different routes with this & there isn't any conclusive evidence that one ratio is more effective than another. I would lean towards the LED ratio of 7:1 though, especially for flowering, they say that most closely mimicks real sunlight.
