What causes slow flowering stage?

So this is my second grow now and I don't understand why my flowering stage always goes so much slower than the flowering period the companies state? like 2 to 3 times longer than expected...it is quite frusterating...i have recently invested in a grow tent to help with light leak but what other factors could be making the process take twice as long??? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

Well if your buying a grow tent to help with the light leaks, thats your #1 prob. Anytime your plants gets enough light to disrubt your flowering cycle, its gonna add a couple of days to your flowering period. Did you get any hermies outta your last grow?

yup...it was only one girl but outta 7 ozs there were prob 20 seeds (all underdeveloped)

Try changing your soil and nutes. But if you are getting ANY light outside of your 12/12 you are fucked! There can't be any at all! That is your problem.

ya i mean i use ffof and their nutes...so idt thats the problem, but i guess they are just that sensitive to light leaks, i only have a ghetto drape covering my closet and it is like bulging out w/ cracks on the sides (bulge is because buds reached out of the closet and didn't want to press the buds lol)

If your worried about pressing the buds, maybe get some thumbtacks and put them in the wall and tie string around the branches to keep them from being pressed.

ya they are tied up everywhere...my first sativa so the brachyness caught me off guard
